    “We loved staying at Tristan.”

We have stayed many times before. It is very comfortable. But we did have a few issues: the house was tidy but the internal doors look a little unclean. One bed was missing towels. No lid for teapot. No pegs to put washing out! Also leak on outside pipe meant kitchen drain water leaked over back patio.

The property

Tristan is a detached bungalow in a wonderful elevated position, with unsurpassed views across the mouth of the Camel Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. Accessed via a private road, the property has an extensive open lawn. Just a few minutes walk to the coast path, Tristan has ready access to the beautiful local beaches of Daymer Bay and Polzeath. Perfect for immersing yourself in the laid-back Cornish lifestyle, this coastal holiday house sleeps 8 guests in four ensuite bedrooms. In low season, either three or four bedrooms are available. There is plenty of private parking. Visitors can delight in the spectacular views from the orangery, a spacious, light room with a vaulted lime-washed ceiling, which is ideal for serious entertaining, or relaxed family dining. On cooler evenings or for winter breaks, a wood-burner will keep you cosy. Greenaway Beach is one of the most dramatic places to stay in the area. The cliffs are unbelievably beautiful, from where keen eyes can spot dolphins and seals. Children will love to go shrimping and crabbing in the rock-pools, or enjoy a swim and an ice-cream at the nearby Daymer Bay. For surfers, there is something for everyone. Budding surfers can sign up at the surf-schools at the adjacent Polzeath Beach; retro-surfers can brave the waves on a wooden belly board. Walk or drive to Rock for a pub lunch. From there you can try your hand at sailing, water ski-ing or paddle boarding; or jump on the ferry to Padstow to taste the seafood in the myriad of excellent restaurants. About the location

DAYMER BAY

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.

Please note bedroom 4 can be accessed either through bedroom 3 or externally.
