The property

Tucked out of the way at the end of private, peaceful road at the top of Polzeath village, Penina is a spacious, split level property with a large lawned garden and access to the beach via a footpath through a small wooded area. With a first floor balcony perfect for evening drinks and a large terrace, Penina is a convenient family seaside retreat, sleeping 8 people in 4 bedrooms. The self-catering property also benefits from a double garage and ample parking space.Comfortably furnished, warm and bright with a Mediterranean tiled floor and underfloor heating, the holiday house is light, bright and well equipped. A family suite on the ground floor has a large bedroom with four single beds, a sofa, TV and an ensuite bathroom to make a lovely private area for adults or children. A garden shower is ideal for rinsing off grains of sand before diving into the indoor shower to warm up. On the first floor are three further bedrooms; a king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and two single bedrooms which share the family bathroom on the same level. All bedrooms offer plenty of storage and comfort featuring their own personality through the colourful and uplifting decor, with the king bedroom located at the back of the house and single bedrooms at the front. Look out through the large picture windows of the lounge onto the balcony and garden beyond. The lounge features ample seating for all the family and a large, modern smart TV which is perfect for huddling around and enjoying your favourite catch up after your day out. The light, well equipped kitchen has plenty of space to prepare holiday family feasts with a dining area in the same room.On the North Cornwall coast, Polzeath is convenient and exciting place to stay for a holiday; take the footpath down from the side of teh house, tuck your board under your arm and stroll over to the beach for an invigorating surf. On your way back, fill a rucksack with supplies from the local grocery store or treat yourself to lunch at one of the buzzing cafes or restaurants that overlook the sands. Head over to the sailing mecca of Rock, with its beautiful location on the Camel Estuary; you may wish to hop on the ferry to explore the quaint harbour town of Padstow with its excellent shops, speedboat rides and crazy golf. Enjoy a boat ride on the Jubilee Queen, a ferry ride around the bay for beautiful views of Polzeath, Pentire and the rugged cliffs busy with sea birds and, sometimes, seals and dolphins. Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
