“Unfortunately, there was an issue with the heating.”
We arrived at the accommodation on one of the coldest evenings of the year - and the heating and hot water had not been turned on (it had obviously been empty for some weeks) and so it was freezing cold. I would have expected the heating and hot water to have been turned on prior to our arrival.

It actually took 3 days to get the place to an acceptable temperature.
We called John Bray on arrival (it was diverted to Sykes in Chester and as a result they had no knowledge of the property) - I was then asked to call the following morning since it was about 6pm when I called. I contacted the following morning (it was still answered by Sykes in Chester) and two convector heaters were delivered, which helped a little. Frustratingly, on the last evening, we found two oil fired heaters in a cupboard!
I am sure that the shareholders of John Bray did very well financially with selling the company to Sykes but it cannot be right to have someone in Chester trying to deal with an urgent issue when someone is staying at a property. Really poor service.
It also appeared that the fridge didn't work.
