“We chose The Nook because of the property description and photographs on your website.”
While we were happy with the property itself and the photographs accurately detailed what we walked into, we were shocked to find that the property was located parallel to a busy road, and as such, there was no escaping from the constant noise of traffic going by you just a few metres from where you were sitting in the garden or within the property itself if you had the door or windows open.
We feel that your description of the property as a ‘beautifully appointed getaway’ in an ‘idyllic setting’ where you can ‘slide open the balcony door and invite the sounds of nature waft through’ is incredibly misleading! If you open the door (which you had too on hot days) it was far from idyllic with the noise of cars not nature!
Needless to say we tried to find reviews on your website from previous occupants about their experiences and there weren’t any. We wonder why!
We are in no doubt that previous clients will have raised the issue of the road with yourselves before. In fact, if we were made aware of the proximity of the property to the busy road we would not have booked it.
The owners themselves are aware of the road situation as they urge ‘caution’ when pulling out of the drive onto the ‘busy road’ in their property brochure!!
There were also some broken pieces of crockery and chipped glasses which we discovered on arrival. We put them to one side when we left as we would expect them to be replaced quickly. After all, if we were staying in a hotel we would not expect to have to eat our dinner from chipped plates and bowls!
However we did not let any of the above spoil our stay but we do feel we were misled and not informed about the busy road aspect from your property description and needed to raise it as a concern for future clients.
Sadly we will not be returning to The Nook and our first experience of booking with John Bray has made us a little more than wary about using your website again.
We look forward to now receiving our £200 holding deposit as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Your comments have been passed on to the team at John Bray Cornish Holidays.
