“This is a property that we feel very comfortable in.”

We love the fact that this holiday home is fully stocked with everything we might need. This home is practical and functional and we would far prefer to pay a realistic rent for this property rather than a higher rent for somewhere with all the kerb appeal but no character! This is the second time we have stayed at The Glowdgie and we would love to come again!

“I have sent you an email regarding the cleanliness of the bungalow.”

It is generally run down compared with what it has been. Even the duvet on the new bed didn’t fit. We will not be back.

We love returning to Cornwall and have done so for nearly 60 years and in that time have seen major changes to the holiday scene. We also like returning to The Glowdgie as it familiar and we know what it has/does not have but did find it a bit tired now in parts but this of course, is reflected in the rental price. We like the privacy it offers and the glorious views and would like to have first refusal on the same dates next year.

I don't think we can probably add to your local knowledge of the many lovely things to do in the area though we have to say Nathan Outlaw's Kitchen was outstanding in every way. The Glowdgie is a traditionally styled detached bungalow quietly situated just 300 yards from the popular surfing beach at Polzeath, on the stunning North Cornwall coast. This self-catering holiday home offers a perfect retreat for all the family and has parking for 3 cars. The spacious living room has direct access onto the decked terrace and sheltered garden and is the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the beach. Light the wood burner and sink into a deep arm chair to watch the ever-changing seascape. The fully fitted kitchen has a table perfect for lazy breakfasts or quick lunches to feed hungry tummies. There is a separate dining room next door for relaxed family meals or you can sit outdoors on the raised deck, to make the most of Cornwall's mild weather. Wake up to stunning early morning coastal views from three of the comfortably furnished bedrooms and enjoy wonderful skies and sunsets in the evenings.Conveniently located just a short walk away from Polzeath, the Glowdgie has all the ingredients for an unforgettable seaside holiday; surfing, golden sands, secluded sunbathing, nearby shops and beach sports. Hiking enthusiasts can take a coastal walk to The Rumps, a National Trust reserve on Pentire Point, and explore the rugged cliffs and iconic landscapes of North Cornwall. This area of outstanding natural beauty is a picturesque haven for wildlife, right on your doorstep. Dogs are welcome on the coastal paths and at nearby Rock and Daymer Bay beaches all year round - but there is a seasonal dog ban on Polzeath beach from Easter to October. There are plenty of great places to eat out at Polzeath to suit all tastes and we recommend packing a picnic or BBQ to make the most of the amazing sunsets. About the location

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
