“Very disappointed that we had to make our own beds on arrival and we were left only 1 very small teatowel.”

Also only 1 key despite reporting this on our first day to the helpline.

Also only 1 key despite reporting this on our first day to the helpline. Also don't like the impersonality of contact, noone to meet you. Preferred the way John Bray looked after us in our previous holidays.

Hello Helen. Thank you for your feedback. We are very disappointed to see your comments. We have had discussed this with John Bray as your experience fell well below the expected standard of service - hopefully this will not happen again. We have also fixed an extra key in the property as you mention one set isn’t really sufficient. David and Joanna Property Owner

The property

Tucked away in a peaceful spot and just a few minutes walk from Port Isaac harbour on the north Cornwall coast is this stunning, newly renovated cottage that can cater up to four guests comfortably. A beautiful combination balance between modern comforts and some original character with sash windows, lintels and a stone faced exterior. Gulls Roost is a self catering holiday cottage with the choice of an outside space to the front and rear of the cottage where you enjoy a morning coffee or dine alfresco on those balmy evenings. Gulls Roost is both well quipped and located perfectly to enjoy Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed by an open plan social space that leads from one side of the cottage to the other. There is everything you need to cook up hearty meals, from an electric oven and hob to good quality kitchen utensils. Leading you through the lounge and dining area surrounding a log burner nestled into the alcove, perfect for cosy nights in after a long day tackling the coastla paths and narrow streets in the village. Exposed wooden beams in the living area only add to the comfort and character and peering through the sash window form the comfort of a plush sofa. Continue up the stairs to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms. Enjoy slow mornings with idyllic countryside views straight from the master bedroom. The second bedroom is warm and welcoming with a comfortable double bed, high-quality linens and chest of drawers for storage. The two rooms share a bathroom that is equipped with a heated towel rail to keep your towels cosy and a large corner shower. Outside in the garden, enjoy some alfresco dining in the sun or relaxing on the bench with a glass of wine and the orb fire pit crackling in the background. It's a place to relax and unwind, where you can stroll to the harbour and beach at low tide or tackle walk the hills right from the door. Port Isaac is an idyllic fishing village located on the North coast of Cornwall. Traditional fisherman's cottages line the narrow streets, as well as a collection of small shops, cafes and restaurants with plenty of dining options. Enjoy good pub grub and a local pint with a view at the Golden Lion, impressive seafood at chef Nathan Outlaw's two restaurants and delicious stone-baked pizzas at The Angry Anchovy. Walkers can follow the Cornish Coastal Path from Port Isaac around the Pentire Headland and down towards Polzeath Beach. For those who love surfing, Polzeath is just a fifteen minute drive away, with plenty of good dining options. The sailing hub of Rock is another 10 minute drive with a plethora of shops and restaurants tochoose from. Or you can hop across on the ferry to Padstow. The area is well known as one of Cornwall's main foodie spots, boasting restaurants from Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth as well as a handful of independently owned pubs, cafes and takeaways.
