The property

This traditional character cottage with enclosed south-facing garden is tucked away in a quiet rural location yet is only a short distance from Rock village centre. Rose Cottage retains its original beamed ceilings, slate and wooden floors, a spacious driveway gives plenty of parking space plus extra room for beach kit or boat trailers. Sleeping 6 people in 3 bedrooms with low ceilings under the eaves, this makes a great family holiday base on the North Cornwall coast, and pets are welcome by arrangement. The snug room feels full of character with exposed wooden beams, low ceiling and large fireplace with a wood burner; perfect for relaxing by the fireside after a long walk. A dining/garden room next door is a perfect space for children to play games and escape the grown-ups. The well-equipped kitchen looks out onto the garden where a paved terrace with plenty of outdoor dining furniture, provide a warm sunny spot for al fresco entertaining.Rock is a classic Cornish resort with the stunning beauty of the North Cornish coastline on its doorstep. Join the coastal path to appreciate the dramatic cliffs rising up from crashing surf below; as you walk along keep your eyes peeled for seals and dolphins, even basking sharks. Wildflowers in May bring bright colours to the palette of rock, sky and sea. Dip in the ocean at Polzeath for an exhilarating swim or surf, or a more relaxed paddle at the mellow sands of Daymer Bay with young children. Descend cliff steps to explore rock-pools on Greenaway beach, offering excellent shrimping and crabbing opportunities. For a flavour of more traditional Cornish fishing towns, visit Padstow and Port Isaac, both attractive and historic harbours with great shops as well as excellent restaurants and cafes.
