“I enjoyed my stay at Bre Cottage.”

Overall it was homely and comfortable if a little more basic than some properties in the area I’ve rented previously. I am mindful that it is a typical stone fisherman’s type cottage. The TV was very small and had limited access to free to air stations but the other entertainment apps worked well, as did the internet. The kitchen was galley style but well equipped. The rooms were functional and sufficiently comfortable and the location in terms of proximity to the harbour was great. The ...

The parking space is somewhat distant from the cottage and to get to it meant walking up a lengthy steep incline - which might be an issue for a mobility restricted person. Overall I had a nice time at Bre Cottage, thank you.

This characterful self-catering Cornish Cottage boasts original exposed beams, stonewalls and slate slag floors on the ground floor with a wood burner to provide warmth and atmosphere on cooler days. Great for friends, a small family or a romantic getaway, sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms with en-suites and the option of bringing your family pets with you. The cottage comes with the bonus of a private parking space at the top of the village. On the groung floor there is a sitting room, dining room and stylish kitchen and on the first floor the master bedroom with en-suite shower room and twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a contemporary finish throughout. To the side of the house, there is a separate utility area with hooks perfect for hanging swimwear to drip dry ready for the next day's activity. To the rear of the property you’ll find a sunny patio area with a raised garden space where you can enjoy the sun or the sounds of the seagulls calling and fishing boats chugging in and out of the nearby harbour. The village has so many quaint harbour lanes and alleyways to stroll around or for those who enjoy hiking, you can head out on the stunning coastal path up to Lobber Point. Children will love walking out to the harbour wall or exploring the abundance of rock pools in Port Isaac, which are revealed on low tides. Port Gaverne is just around the corner, a safe and sheltered cove for sea swimming or simply paddling and enjoying beach combing or shell seeking. The neighbouring village of Port Quinn is owned by the National Trust and is a quiet and peaceful cove which holds great attraction for canoeists and kayakers. About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
