“After reading the previous reviews, we were a little worried about staying here, but we shouldn’t have been!”

What an absolutely beautiful cottage, right in the perfect place of port Isaac. Beds comfy, and property was clean. The only thing is the floor as you walk in to the cottage is a little sandy, but it’s unavoidable as you’re coming straight from the beach. Beds were clean and comfy, as was the rest of the cottage. The only thing If I had to mention, is the shower door doesn’t fully close so the bathroom floor gets wet, but nothing major at all. I’d 100% book to come back here again ...

The property

Oozing charm and character, Cloam Cottage is a traditional Cornish fisherman's cottage nestled right in the heart of Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast. As its name suggests, this self catering cottage features an historic decorative cloam oven in the sitting room. Only seconds from the harbour, the cottage is surrounded with delightful restaurants, cafes, a pub and lovely shops. The property has the bonus of a private parking space a mere two minutes walk away. Sleeping 4 people in 2 cosy bedrooms, this is an idyllic place to stay and relax.Exposed ceiling beams throughout add to the historic feel, whilst the seaside decor brings a stylish modern touch. The smart slate-floored kitchen has everything you need to whip up a spread; then chill out on the comfy sofas in front of a roaring wood burner on cooler nights. Amble around the corner to the slipway with your cup of coffee or your glass of wine, or perch on the beach to contemplate the tide and the busy goings-on of the fishermen. Distinctive and unusual, Port Isaac is located at the foot of a steep-sided valley and is flanked by dramatic, breathtakingly beautiful cliffs and coves. This, together with the picturesque architecture and history of the village, makes holidaying here a fascinating and refreshing experience. From hiking the coast paths, or pottering about on the beach, to kayaking at Port Quin or surfing at Polzeath these are just some of the activities to keep everyone happy on holiday.Ground Floor: Sitting Room Kitchen/Dining Room Shower Room/WC Utility Room First Floor: Bedroom 1: Double Bed Bedroom 2: Twin Beds Separate WC Sorry No Pets.

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.

Please note: The front door opens onto Fore Street which is the main street into the harbour. The property is opposite a pub which has a fan so could be noisy. There is also steep stairs leading to bedrooms upstairs.
