“This was our first stay at Gulland and we were very impressed.”

Decor and facilities bang on. Views and constant sea noises excellent. Garage - I could fit my Yaris Gr CPack in but I had taken the garage width details before. Very handy for the golden lion pub, mote restaurant and shops in the village. We will be back.

The property

This frontline, first-floor apartment of Gulland enjoys a large, cliff top garden and stunning views of the harbour at the top of the beautiful village of Port Isaac, Cornwall. Gulland is a wonderful escape from the world where a group of three can potter at will into the village and return to relax in this lovely, self-catering holiday home. The living spaces immediately draw you into the double-aspect picture windows and incredible views that lie beyond; perfectly designed with window seats below both of these, they invite you to curl up and watch the fishing boats pootle in and out of the historic harbour, or out to sea - bring your binoculars to scan the waters for the sights of seals, sea birds and perhaps even a pod of passing dolphins! This comfortable room features wood panelling which creates a warm, seaside feel while the refreshing coastal colours create a wonderful balance. There is also a table and chairs here so you can sit down at the end of the day and dine with views over the glistening waters and watch the ever-changing colours of the sky during sunset. The charming kitchen gives you a convenient place to prepare your meals, with contemporary, electrical facilities to make cooking an enjoyable affair. The bedrooms are spacious, with pale blue hues with pretty florals offer a restful and relaxing space to recharge at night, with the master bedroom providing a double bed and the second bedroom, a single. There is also a convenient shower room to freshen up and get ready for the day ahead. Leave your car in the garage and head into Port Isaac on foot, as the delights of the quaint village lie just outside your door. Whether you are stopping by the local individual shops, taking to the South West coastal path for a hike on the cliff tops or partaking in a delectable delicacy from the tempting restaurants, you can be sure to be entertained and well fed! Not only are there two restaurants by Nathan Outlaw, but there are also cafes, pubs and casual eateries where you can taste local wares. In the summer evenings, enjoy the blissful sea shanties from the incredible Fishermen's Friends who play by the harbour. Venturing out of Port Isaac, pop into Trevathan Farm Shop to stock up on their fine produce and in summer months, pick your own strawberries outside. For sandy beaches a short drive away you will find the smaller bays of Lundy Bay and Epphaven which can be walked down to from the cliffs and over the rocks at low tide for peace and tranquility. For easier access, the surfing hub of Polzeath and just below, the gentler shores of Daymer Bay and Rock are a little further south, between which you will find the famous St. Enodoc Church sitting in the middle of the St. Enodoc golf course; worth a visit whether you are a keen golfer or not! Gulland is truly a relaxing retreat which can be experienced by booking a stay today.
