“Amazing little cottage .”

So comfortable . We struggled a little with the stairs but you did say they were steep . We couldnt work the bath plug but the shower was good . Maybe a microwave would be useful .

“This is a lovely small cottage in a fantastic location, just steps from the platt.”

The kitchen is tiny but well equipped…loved the Cornishware dishes and teapot! The Living room is tiny as well, but adequate. The staircase is killer!! A grab bar at the top of the steps is needed to help accomplish the final big step up, especially for older folks! Bathroom is luxurious! Beds are fairly comfy. The double room up top is in a very pretty (but small) A frame style. We had some trouble with a water leak which caused our fire alarm to go off at midnight one night. The maintenance crew was there the next day, and the owner kindly offered us a partial refund. That’s the way to do business! The best things about Mobray are the cleanliness and optimal location! Sure miss the beautiful village of Port Isaac!

“Bath does not drain, so water sits in the bottom whilst showering.”

Broken glass across the living room floor Kitchen utensils/pots seemed dirty. Otherwise, lovely cottage and stay. Not ideal for my 6ft 5 husband, but we have that problem anywhere in Port Isaac!

“Central position of the cottage in the village.”

Quaint cottage and well equipped. Will definitely rent a cottage in the village again. We have visited the village and rented cottages several times over the years.

“We loved Monday.”

As expected for a fishing cottage some very low doorways so a few head bumps & expletives the first night but you get used to it pretty quickly. Cottage itself was lovely- clean, well finished and it really felt like a home form home for a week. Would highly recommend.

“The house was lovely, although the stairs are a bit tricky.”

The top bedroom has a water heater timer in it which makes a constant clicking noise. It may just be us but unfortunately because of this we didn't sleep very well at all during the week and we couldn't turn it off.

The property

Mobray is a traditional Cornish cottage just 100 yards from the fishing harbour which has been recently renovated and furnished to a very high standard whilst retaining its original charm. No expense has been spared and no corners cut in making this an ideal base for your holiday whatever the weather. This self catering holiday cottage can cater for up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms split over the first floor and mezzanine level, perfect for couples or a small family looking for a comfortable holiday in Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast with the added benefit of an allocated parking space at the top of Church Hill (please see details below). Here you are conveniently located for everything Port Isaac has to offer, including a selection of restaurants, local shops and pubs serving arguably the best fresh seafood straight from the harbour. Step in from Middle Street into the open plan living area, tastefully decorated with calm pastel tones, exposed ceiling beams and comfortable furnishings. The downstairs features; a carefully thought out separate kitchen where you can stand in one place to access everything. Underfloor heating provides that homely feel in addition to the traditional wood burner, perfect for an evening or relaxation after a busy day exploring the coast. The first floor comprises of a surprisingly spacious bedroom with two single beds and the stylish family bathroom. Climb up to the bright and chic top floor master bedroom with a calm palette of mustard, white and grey colours all in sync to provide a relaxing feel for the perfect night’s sleep. Port Isaac consists of a fascinating jumble of old cottages and houses clustered around a beautiful sheltered harbour, up over the hillside and towards Port Gaverne. There are many small lanes and alleyways to explore in the old part of the village, which has kept its original charm and character and is unspoilt by commercialism. The village is regularly used as a location for film and television, and was the location for the television series 'Doc Martin'. It is also home to Port Isaac 'Fishermas Friends' who occasionally perform on the harbour during the summer. You will be spoilt for choice for places to eat in Port Isaac, with its excellent pubs, restaurants - including Nathan Outlaws Fish Kitchen - and take aways. Self-caterers are also well provided for with bakeries, fish cellars by the quay, and a small co-op at the top of the hill. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

Please note: The stairs to the first and second floors are steep so care should be taken with children and the elderly and may not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
