The property

The Pump boasts a fine position amongst some of the prettiest traditional Cornish cottages and gardens in Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast. Just yards from the picturesque little working fishing harbour that plays host to the TV series Doc Martin, this immaculate self catering holiday property sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) and offers stylish, spacious accommodation across two floors with period features, including slate floors, wooden beams and Cornish stone walls. With the benefit of a small, sun drenched patio to the front of the property and offsite parking available, The Pump is a real jewel in Port Isaac's crown - go on, spoil yourself! As its name suggests, The Pump was used as the old village pump right up until the 1950’s even after the mains water was installed, until it was finally sealed off in the early 1970’s. The whole of the ground floor has been opened to create a large, comfortable living space with a modern kitchen and everything neatly to hand. Pop down to the fish market before returning to prepare fresh and tasty meals for a hungry crowd. After a day out exploring the north Cornwall coast, you can cosy up by a roaring wood burner to watch a family movie and put your feet up with a glass of wine and a favourite novel. The chic living area has plenty of comfy sofas to relax in. The property has been decorated in a boutique hotel style, with a generous master double bedroom and en-suite shower room, and two further double bedrooms, both sharing the separate shower room. The bustling harbour at Port Isaac is just a short walk down through the town along it's pretty winding streets. There are plenty of delicious cafes and fine restaurants on offer, along with shops and galleries just perfect for a spot of retail therapy. At low tide children will love exploring the rock-pools and shells left on the beach and walking out to the harbour wall. Venture out on the coastal paths to take in the breathtaking scenery and coastline. Wander down to adjacent Port Gaverne for a spot of wild swimming followed by hot chips and a pint in the Port Gaverne Inn. For more adventures try kayaking at Port Quin, book yourselves a game of golf at the famous St. Enodoc Championship course in Rock or The Point at Polzeath, both nearby. Pack the kids, the boogie boards, buckets & spades in the car and head off to Polzeath for some exhilarating wave riding, or Daymer Bay for a picnic on the beach. For watersports including sailing or waterskiing, head to Rock where you can hire equipment or book tuition at the Rock Sailing Club and the Camel Ski School. Enjoying a central location in the heart of Port Isaac, The Pump retains many original features.
