“Great cottage great location- Wi-Fi code changes without informing us - loads of litter under the settees- needs updating and some improvements- back door lock broken on arrival and couldn’t get out !”

Thank you for your feedback on the house, I am sorry to hear the house was not up to a standard we like to provide for our guests. We as owners have since visited and taken care of some of the updating and improvements you mentioned. We have also put in a complaint to our cleaning company as we pay for the house to be presented to a high standard and it was clear these were not being met. I do hope you will visit us again. “The house is lovely and comes well equipped with everything you need.”

You are overlooked from all angles (front and rear) and the inside living space is much smaller than expected. The parking is a bit misleading as there is only space for one car inside the garage which you cannot close if you have a large car. You have to pay to park elsewhere in the village if you have more than one car as there is no space near the house. Its a good 10 minute trek up the hill to the nearest carpark! This should be clearly stated prior to booking, rather than in the arrival instructions.

Thank you for your feedback on the house, I am pleased you found it well equipped. We regularly stay at the house as owners and like to ensure it is a home from home. Port Isaac is a unique and charming fishing village with many of the houses in the valley being very small and quirky. Trevan House is one of the larger houses in the village with ample garden space and a garage which is rare for these type of houses. It is a walk to the carpark to park a second car and I will update the details on the website to make this clearer. Property Owner

“We had a wonderful holiday.”

The property could benefit from an umbrella for the outside table and something to dry towels eg a washing line. It was a shame the bbq was a) full of ash and b) too small to be able to cook a proper dinner for 9.

Thank you for your feedback on the house. We do indeed have a washing line and I have cut back the garden to ensure it is more visible to find next time. We agree with you regarding the BBQ and do have plans to build a BBQ to accommodate more people. The umbrella for the outside table is an item we have thought about however it is difficult to keep the umbrellas in the garden in a useable condition. We will consider how we can provide a more shaded area outside, so thank you for bringing it to our attention. We have also put in a complaint to our cleaning company as we pay for the house to be presented to a high standard and it was clear these were not being met, this should include making sure the BBQ is emptied ready for the next guest. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
