    “We've just had a wonderful week's holiday at Harbour Lights.”

    I'm sure it will have been said in other reviews, but the house is set in a superb location in its own extensive grounds immediately adjacent to Porthilly Beach. There are wonderful views to be had over Porthilly, out to the estuary and over to Padstow. The house itself is large, comfortable and wants for nothing. We would like to thanks the owners for allowing us to share their wonderful home. We immediately wanted to book a return visit, but sadly we understand the property is being ...

The property

Harbour Lights is an outstanding property set in the most fabulous grounds and location. The luxurious holiday house recently re-modelled, extended and refurbished is set in a magical position with outstanding panoramic views across Porthilly, near Rock and across the estuary towards Padstow. Standing in about 2 acres of lawned and pretty gardens with direct access to Porthilly beach through its own garden gate. Harbour Lights is perfect for large families and groups of friends as it can accommodate 10 people in six restful bedrooms.There is a generous choice of bedrooms with 3 superkings, 1 twin and 2 singles. Bathrooms are lovely and light and a beach shower room is ideal for returning swimmers or surfers. Colourful and stylish the kitchen has plenty of space for cooking up a feast or baking some fresh scones. The welcoming lounge provides respite from energetic activities and a chance to light a fire on a cooler evening. Outside a spacious sun terrace gives ample opportunity for enjoying a barbecue and a sundowner.This area of Rock on the North Cornwall coast is a delight, being slightly more tucked away and undiscovered yet only a short walk away from the pubs and restaurants, sailing club and main area of Rock beach. A quick drive or a ramble over the sand dunes will bring you to Daymer Bay, a classic bucket and spade beach perfect for bathing. Continue along the coast path to explore Polzeath, famous for its surfing vibe and rockpooling. Catch the water taxi from Rock in the evening to visit Paul Ainsworth's or Rick Stein's Padstow restaurants, or hop on the ferry during daylight for a spot of sightseeing, a pasty and some shopping. Padstow 1.5 miles via ferry; Polzeath 2.8 miles; Wadebridge 6.2 miles.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
