    “This was our 8th time staying at Sea Cottage in Rock so that in itself gives an indication of our satisfaction with the property.”

    Doggy friendly and several steps from the beach it is in an ideal location for restaurants, the SW Coast Path and the Ferry to Padstow. The garden and terrace are a bonus as is the small garden just over the road overlooking the beach. My only note of caution would be although the property states it sleeps 8, the two smaller bedrooms on the ground floor, bunk and twin, are probably suitable for children only.

The property

Sea Cottage is a very attractive semi-detached, stone-faced cottage positioned within a few yards of Rock beach on the North Cornwall coast. The reverse-level living arrangement takes full advantage of the extensive views across the Camel Estuary to Padstow and the surrounding countryside. A small patio just off the kitchen is a lovely outdoor space to appreciate the sea views and fresh coastal air while the rear garden slopes upwards, also giving lovely views. Sleeping 8 people in 4 bedrooms, this is a stunning and convenient place to stay, being so close Rock waterfront with its pubs, restaurants, sailing and ski school and just downhill from St Enodoc Golf club.A bunk and twin bed room on the ground floor share a wet room; the third, with twin beds that zip and link to make a Superking, has a shower room just next door. A small utility room is a useful place for damp swimming kit and wetsuits. Upstairs the spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area has a characterful vaulted ceiling with smart furnishings, a lovely room for relaxing and socialising in. The fourth bedroom is on the first floor just off the living space, with a kingsize bed and adjacent bathroom.Water sports enthusiasts, keen golfers, hikers and lovers of all things Cornish will love a holiday in Rock, especially being so close to the beach. Water skiers can catch an early morning ski before the sea breeze arrives and return to a slap up breakfast at Sea Cottage or have it cooked for you at the Blue Tomato cafe just along the road. Book in for sailing course at the Camel sailing school and tack upstream towards Wadebridge, looking out for oystercatchers, cormorants and little egrets as you go. Lovely walks are found in the sand dunes behind Rock, wonderful for games of hide and seek or simply relaxing in a sunny spot with a book and a picnic. Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
