Slipway & Anchorage

The Slipway properties are all located at the bottom of Rock, on the other side of the road from the Rock Sailing club slipway.  There are three terrace rows of houses that alll have South facing aspects and balconies and offer a perfect spot to have family groups rent multiple properties so each family can be in the same place as their friends but also have some space and time to themselves..

The property

Slipway 23 is an end of terrace holiday cottage with superb views over the Camel estuary, Rock beach and the lovely Rock Sailing club building that sits majestically on the beach. A small patio garden provides an ideal spot for evening drinks or family meals. The self-catering cottage is bright and elegant and has been refurbished to a very high standard with room for 6 guests to sleep comfortably in 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms with parking in a covered car port. Slipway 23 is a truly lovely waterside bolthole for a family looking to enjoy the delights of North Cornwall.There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, both have en-suite shower rooms and there is a useful utility area with space to leave your soggy beach towels or water sports paraphernalia. On the first floor is the open plan lounge/dining room with patio doors onto a large south facing balcony, where better to have your morning tea or coffee and contemplate the day ahead? A neat and well-equipped kitchen has all you need to nourish your family along with a picture perfect view of the estuary and the many boats on their moorings. The double bedroom on this floor has a king size bed and doors out to a balcony with a bathroom alongside.The Camel estuary has many water sports to try out and is also idyllic for children to enjoy, with its long sandy stretches, sand dunes and generally calm water conditions. Pack buckets and spades for sandcastles, play hide and seek in and out of the dunes, or go paddling in the gentle waters. You can try exhilarating sea safaris to go out spotting wildlife, book sailing or paddle boarding lessons, or enjoy long leisurely fishing cruises on this beautiful stretch of water. On low tides it's possible to walk all the way along the beach to Daymer Bay, a great empty stretch of beach ideal for flying kites or playing football or beach cricket. This sheltered bay is perfect for swimming and there are many little coves to tuck into for a beach picnic or barbeque. For the best surfing waves, head over to Polzeath, with RNLI lifeguards patrolling in the summer, it is a safe place to swim or learn to surf. For a change of scenery, take the foot ferry over to Padstow for a mooch around the harbour. Here you can try Rick Stein's fish and chips or hire a bike to cycle along the Camel estuary. Otherwise you can drive over to nearby Port Isaac, another quintessential Cornish fishing harbour with great pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and stunning coastal walks to enjoy.Ground Floor: Bedroom 2:Twin Beds (3ft) with en-suite Shower/W.C. Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
