    “House had not been cleaned.”

Mouse droppings on and under the furniture. No gas which meant no hot water or ability to cook food.

Mouse droppings on and under the furniture. No gas which meant no hot water or ability to cook food. Moved to another property which was really good except for the building site next door and the fact we were made to leave a day early because the owners plans changed. Partial refund promised and not received. Awful experience.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your visit. The issue with the cleanliness has been reported to the caretaking team and we have had pest control in to rectify the mouse problem. Alongside this we have replaced the gas and we apologise that this was not there in time for your arrival. We hope we can welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

The property

St Enodoc Cottage is a very attractive, detached holiday cottage set within a large south facing garden just 300m from the beach at Daymer Bay. The property retains some lovely original features and is comfortably furnished in a traditional style with room to sleep 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Two families could comfortably share this self catering seaside retreat or perhaps a larger extended family or a group of friends. A glorious location for all seasons; enjoy hot sunny days on the beach or exhilarating coastal walks on blustery days in the winter. The layout downstairs provides plenty of space for everyone with an open plan kitchen/dining room complete with a wood burner for wintry days. Guests could snuggle up with a good book and a roaring fire in the sitting room or the study. There's also a useful utility room, great for picnic blankets, surfboards or buckets and spades. The glorious sheltered garden has a charming terrace and plenty of spots to soak up the summer sun.Daymer Bay beach is an idyllic spot to spend a summer's day, sheltered by the sand dunes that surround it. The calm shallow waters on a rising tide provide some of the warmest opportunities for sea swimming around. There are numerous gorgeous little inlets and coves alongside the bay where you can make camp and settle down for a sunbathe or a sandcastle competition. Stand up paddle boarding is becoming increasingly popular here and from your standing position you can gaze down into the crystal clear waters.Ground Floor: Kitchen/Dining Room with Multi Fuel Stove Sitting Room with Multi Fuel Stove Study Utility Room with Separate W.C. 1st Floor: Bedroom 1: Kingsize Bed (5ft) with en-suite Bathroom/W.C. About the location

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
