30 we found the outside decking area was overgrown and in poor condition,a lack of maintenance and upkeep.
Inside the house was dusty and cobwebs in the bathroom, a lack of cleanliness was not expected when most rental companies advertise the fact that extra cleaning is taking place within the properties for covid situation, upon phoning John bray a lack of concern was shown by the staff member , it was agreed I would phone on the Tuesday again to let you know if we could allow the housekeeper to visit again, but we were told we would have to vacate the property whilst this takes place, as we had cleaned the property ourselves on the day of arrival we didn’t feel we ought to be inconvenienced again, I tried phoning the office and was put on hold for considerable time and then just cut off! I then emailed to show our displeasure with the response and the poor condition of the property, only to have an email from another JB employee asking if the issues were now resolved! So overall we feel John bray didn’t provide a solution and also was of no concern to the them either.
Other aspects worth mentioning were the lounge furniture being very tired and uncomfortable to sit on, the wood floor was terribly creaky to the point of requiring attention.
I now trust that you will take this complaint seriously, we have stayed in many holiday properties over the years and never felt the need to complain before, we are not serial complainers but we would hope when hiring properties they will be cleaned effectively and of course be maintained to a reasonable standard and on this occasion it was clear this wasn’t the case.
In fact on the first time I contacted Jb on the Monday I was told that there was four properties that were to be cleaned that day! As though this was some kind of excuse for the lack of cleaning. I will look forward to your response before deciding whether to leave a review of our experience on a relevant review site. As you can see we are very disappointed with our experience of John Bray and number 16, 7 Sandy hills.

Our deepest apologies with your difficulties in contacting and communicating with us in the office, the recent takeover from Sykes has made communication channels difficult at times.
