“Seastar is a brilliant place to stay.”

2 families (+ 2 dogs) enjoyed this wonderful house in a great location in Pityme near Rock. Beautifully furnished throughout and with all the amenities you would expect it really is a home from home. There’s the local pub, bakery and shops in walking distance and the beaches at Rock Daymer and Polzeath a few minutes drive away. Will return again.

“The property itself is gorgeous, with all amenities required - Can't fault that.”

Great location - apart from the main road is quite busy and the building works next door aren't ideal. Few negative comments - The cleanliness of the property was very below par and let it down - it was very very dusty and dirty around the edges... Minor things you would expect for price tag - washing up supplies any provided a jay cloth, washing liquid and 10 dishwasher tablets - sponges or washing up brushes and antibac spray would be of use. There were no black bin bags even though it asks you to put rubbish out in them, and only 2 part used toilet rolls for the whole house. Bunk bed room - When booking we were told that we could use all the beds in the bunk bed room - this was important to us and why we booked this property as we needed to use all the beds for the kids - but on arrival we were only provided bedding for the bottom bunks and when we called the office to rectify we were told we were not allowed to use the top bunks at all. Mixed info. Building works - Appreciated the refund but when agreeing to it we were told the building works would be inside only - they were working on the roof with hammers from 8am-4pm. The property was a shell and quite clearly external works were in progress not internal. Otherwise we loved it and what it offered!

“Beautiful property well equipped .”

Lovely decor and furnishings. Could do with stair gates when young children are there especially at the top . The information folder could do with being looked out think people have moved stuff around hard to found house information it’s after everything else needs to be at the front not places to visit etc . Not happy with John Bray’s customer service though. Sent email about work being done behind property no one came back to me about this at all . For your information builders arrive about 7.30 finish about 4 no noise until about 8.30 . I also rang about high chair cot etc no one came back to me I had to ring you again to be told we needed to hire one think this should be in the description of the property. Also had issue with instant hot tap which after a couple of phone calls eventually the engineer came out saying he would order the cartridge but we never saw anyone again so when leaving property the tap still didn’t work !! So John bray you need to look into your customer service as this has put me off booking again with you .

“We found the house to be extremely homely and comfortable.”

We would love to stay there again. It was tastefully done and clean. Our only suggestion would be to have an electric blind fitted on the large landing window as next door can see into the top of the house so if you are leaving the bathroom from having a shower, there is not much privacy. Also, the kitchen door did not shut properly so with an inquisitive toddler, we had to be mindful to watch the door. Also, a baby gate option for the top and bottom of the stairs would be great for those with young families. Also, if the top bunks are not being made up, then remove the unmade duvets and pillows as most kids want to go up there so it then becomes I unhygienic.

“Amazing house.”

Really loved it. We had a fabulous week and didn’t want to come home. The only disappointment was the listing which stated sleeps 10 when we booked it but was changed to sleeps 8 at some point before we arrived meaning we had to cancel some family staying with us.

Seastar is a truly beautiful holiday haven on the north Cornwall coast. Well situated within very easy walking distance of the Pityme pub/restaurant and just a moments drive from the glorious sandy beaches, golf courses and local amenities, Seastar provides a great base from which to explore the area. This stunning self catering holiday home can cater for up to ten guests comfortably in four deluxe bedrooms and you can bring your loyal companion along with you by arrangement. This amazing newly-built house is found at the beginning of the Rock Road, leading you down towards the waterfront shops, restaurant and beach activities. The contemporary living spaces flow throughout the ground floor combining wooden floors, fresh white walls and calming pastel tones to create that perfect holiday ambience. The modern kitchen and dining area is a great space to meet your culinary needs with a grande centre island and comfortable bar seating for your morning coffee. Slide back the full-length bifold doors creating that light and airy feel and extend the open plan space out onto the patio and garden for some alfresco dining. Seastar provides two living options with a separate snug TV room filled with board games and books and a living area with plush, comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and wood burner, perfect for those coolers evenings and a place to unwind after a day on the beach. The first floor hosts four beautiful bedrooms, each bedroom with soft, calm interiors and luxurious beds prepped ready for your holiday; an elegant master bedroom with a superking four poster bed and a shower ensuite; a double ensuite bedroom; a further double bedroom and tailored, double bunk room that share a family bathroom. Head out for a stroll through Rock, with its many shops, restaurants and pubs that lead straight to the Camel Estuary and seaside adventures. Scenic coastal walks are all around with each new route promising better views, so definitely pack your walking boots. For sailing, power boating and water-skiing head to the Rock Sailing Club or the Camel Sailing and Powerboat Centre. At Rock you can also catch the ferry across to Padstow to explore this vibrant harbour town and its many fine restaurants including Rick Steins and Paul Ainsworth. In the evenings catch the water taxi home against a backdrop of twinkling lights. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy The St Enodoc Golf Club or The Point at Polzeath Golf Club, both within walking distance from Seastar. For some pampering head to the spa at St Enodoc Hotel or The Point at Polzeath for some me-time. Surfers and paddle boarders will prefer Polzeath beach further around the headland where Atlantic swells produce some of Britain's best waves. Just 10 minutes up the road is the picturesque village of Port Isaac, home to the Doc Martin TV series, the Fisherman's Friends and a working harbour. Take time out to eat a bag of fish and chips on the harbour wall as the sun sinks below the horizon - you won't regret it! Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service.
