“There were a lot of spiders and webs (also at the front door), so it looked like the cottage was uninhabited for a longer time.”

But the rest was very clean and we enjoyed this lovely cottage very much.

“A lovely cottage in a very quiet area, spacious and everything we needed.”

The things that prevented us giving a 5 star rating were:- No logs for burner, & there was half a burnt log in the burner. My husband had to clean it before use & no logs were provided. Other properties provide some logs & fire starters. No milk on arrival which is normally standard on every property we stay in. Dog biscuits were brilliant & the heating easy & efficient. Overall standard was good & we would go back.

“Cottage as expected and thank you for the thoughtful goodies.”

Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, plenty of hot water and excellent shower. Only scored 8 as a recommendation as cottage is remote and no obvious walks/strolls but very handy for Polzeath where we joined up with family. A very enjoyable holiday home.

Great place, only minor gripe was that the garden wasn't very enclosed. Small hedge had holes in it and it wasn't really able to contain the dog. Thanks for a great stay, though!

“Lovely little cottage, with all the home comforts in a peaceful location!”

We had a glorious week, with lots of sunshine. We particularly enjoyed the walk from Rock to Daymer Bay along the beach when the tide was out. Look forward to returning soon.

“We enjoyed our time at Millers Cottage.”

There were nice little touches like the provision of salt, pepper, oil etc and for the dogs a jar of treats. The only downside was the garden wasn’t totally dog secure but we managed. The small bedroom is cute but only just big enough for two beds and I kept banging myself on the wooden frame. The kitchen was well stocked for all cooking needs. We would stay here again.

Set in the peaceful hamlet of Tregwarmond Mill, yet only three miles from the thrills and delights of the picturesque Rock and Polzeath, Millers Cottage is a beautiful retreat. Wonderfully welcoming and lovingly presented with the utmost care and attention, this converted mill cottage oozes charm and character by the bucketful with stable doors, vaulted ceilings, wood burner and exposed beams. Step outside to a little oasis of calm, the ideal spot to while away a sunny afternoon with a good book or enjoy meals on balmy evenings. Perfect as a romantic escape for two, a family retreat for four or the dog’s favourite getaway, this is one holiday cottage not to be missed. A delightful retreat, Millers Cottage is amongst a cluster of converted old mill buildings surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty. As you walk in, you are greeted with a calm and characterful open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with plenty of comfy seating for everyone to chill out and unwind and the cosy wood-burner is sure to keep you warm whatever the weather. The bedrooms are located on opposite ends of the social room, the master bedroom equipped with a king size bed is near the family shower room shared between both bedrooms. Outside, enjoy a delightful little garden, set up with all your holiday needs in mind – a picnic table ideal for al fresco dining with the use of a locked shed for all your beach gear and a quiet area to sit out and enjoy the peace. As if this cottage wasn’t enough, this is a terrific base for enjoying this special part of north Cornwall. The coastline is strewn with great beaches with family and dog friendly Daymer Bay and the surfers’ favourite Polzeath right on your doorstep. At Rock you can try your hand at sailing, windsurfing and water skiing, stroll around the shops and stock up on some provisions or take the foot ferry across the estuary to Padstow, which surely needs no introduction. The Camel Trail invites you to hop on a bike and enjoy the cycle along the river estuary, and after all that exercise why not head back to the local village pub for a traditional pub meal.
