“Great holiday was had by all.”

Dozmary had all the essentials for our stay. The location was ideal as a short walk to the beach with stunning views of Polzeath. We would definitely recommend this property.

The property

This popular detached holiday property is set at the end of a private road just minutes away from the beach and rolling surf at Polzeath in North Cornwall. With sensational sea views across Hayle Bay to the dramatic cliffs of Pentire Point and Newland Island, there is also a coastal path leading to Daymer Bay and Rock just across the field. Shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants are a couple of minutes walk away, located just behind the beach. With a sunny terrace making the most of the view and parking for 2 cars, Dozmary makes an ideal holiday home for a group of beach lovers, accommodating 6 people in 3 bedrooms.Dozmary has a spacious feel, with high ceilings and lots of light flooding in from the large glass doors. There are two double bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room. A third bedroom has twin beds and patio doors that open onto the garden. An open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a sociable space where sliding doors can be opened up to enjoy the view; why not take an alfresco breakfast while keeping an eye on the surf conditions before packing a picnic or tucking a board under your arm and heading down to the sea. After a hard day's surf, relax on the terrace with a cold beer whilst watching the sunset before strolling up to the nearby pub for a hearty supper. With a coastal location that't hard to beat, you will be first to hit the surf and the last to leave the water. Book a course of lessons at one of the excellent surf schools - a great opportunity to improve your pop up and steering skills or even have a go at Stand up Paddle-boarding, the latest craze from Hawaii. For those looking for more gentle waters, head to Daymer Bay for idyllic swimming conditions at high tide and glorious rock-pooling opportunities at low tide. Young children will love to while away hours damming little steams leading down to the sea while parents relax with a coffee from the beach shop. Return to Dozmary via the rugged cliff path taking in the panoramic views from Stepper to Pentire, spotting the inlets and coves of Greenaway beach below.Accommodation: Open plan Sitting Room/Kitchen/Diner with patio doors to garden Bedroom 1: Double Bed (4ft 6) with en-suite shower/W.C. About the location

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
