“A really charming gem of a cottage.”

Amazing position and parking up the hill was fine. Lovely original features, the decor was quirky but totally in keeping and really welcoming and fun. Sitting room very small but cosy for 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters - the wood burner was fab, the cottage heated up really quickly after cold wet hikes over the coastal paths. Welcome pack and daffodils were a lovely personal touch. If the cottage was mine I wouldn’t want to rent it out! A lot of love and thought has gone into the decor ...

Thank you for making it available for holidays - another week of happy memories, we have been coming to the area for years. Only downside were the mattresses which were not very comfortable. We had a lovely few days despite the unseasonably wet and windy weather.

The property

Featured in The Daily Mail and The Sunday Times. Grey Roofs is a picture perfect coastal retreat.Situated close to the picturesque harbour of Port Isaac with direct views of the harbour and sea from the deck. A traditional fisherman’s cottage, Grey Roofs has been lovingly refurbished throughout to create a stylish holiday home that still retains the character and charm of the original building. The property has a playful nautical theme running through the house such as colorful fish wallpaper, a white and blue tiled bathroom, and bedrooms with paddles and lifebuoys lining the walls. The large kitchen/diner is equipped with all mod-cons and has a chunky farmhouse dining table that will comfortably seat five guests. The long sitting room is partially divided in two by the stairs and a reception/study area with armchairs and desk that leads into a sitting area with sofas set in front of a wood burning stove - the perfect pace to warm up on chilly evenings. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms: a double room, single room, and twin bedroom; as well as a beautifully decorated family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. On sunny afternoons or calm evenings why not head outside and climb the steps to the decking area to enjoy a light snack or refreshing glass of wine. From your doorstep, take a stroll around the old village wondering through the narrow streets where you will find a host of white-washed fisherman's cottages, an array of local shops, cafes, and restaurants all within easy walking distance. If you're feeling energetic you can tackle a coastal walk to Port Quin by heading over Lobber Point, past the rocky cove of Pine Haven, before dropping down to this pretty National Trust owned cove – a lovely spot for swimming, kayaking, rock pooling or fishing. Enjoy a wonderful break with your loved ones at Grey Roofs
