    “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hob House, the weather was exceptional and we loved staying such a wonderful warm house close to and within walking distance of the beaches and walks.”

    Just a few things; one of the beds in bedroom 3 or 4 is actually broken. The bed base is is in poor condition so the guest had very poor sleep. This really isn’t good enough. My husband and I stayed in the annexe. There is no radiator or towel rail to dry towels. The room is very cold unless you put on a small electric heater. We felt is was a bit mean with 7 bathrooms to be left with ends of loo rolls and only one spare for the whole house! Similarly to have only 3 dishwasher tablets.

The property

Hob House is a very impressive, beautifully furnished family holiday house with stunning sea views and within an easy walk of Daymer Bay, on the North Cornwall coast. With plentiful living spaces, the house enjoys a games room, sun-drenched conservatory, and study in addition to a considerable sitting room. Almost all of the rooms revel in glorious views and you can join the footpath leading to the beach from the end of the garden. A vast slate terrace overlooks the large sunny garden and the Camel Estuary beyond; palm trees, terracotta planted pots and smart outdoor furniture lends a Mediterranean feel. This self catering property offers 6 bedrooms and sleeps people; a separate garage annexe sleeps a further 2 people in a spacious, twin-bedded room with ensuite shower. This is a fabulous holiday destination for a large gathering of family and friends, being so close to Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Rock. Floor to ceiling windows along with a light well allows the sun to flood into the conservatory, making this a stunning area to sit, eat and socialise. With French windows to the garden, the sitting room is elegant and comfortable, with an open fire for cosy, cooler evenings. Make the most of the terrace on a warm day with its built-in barbecue; stretch out the sun loungers with a good book. The whole family will appreciate the space in the garden, perfect for games of hide and seek, football or croquet.A plum position to enjoy the spectacular coast of North Cornwall and the waters of the Camel Estuary, the whole family will adore the variety of fun activities, adrenaline-fuelled or calm and relaxed. Stride out from the garden to join the coast path towards the rugged cliffs of Pentire Point and Rumps; alternatively meander through sand dunes to the sailing mecca of Rock. Catch the ferry across the estuary to the attractive fishing harbour of Padstow with its interesting shops, bustling harbour and Rick Stein fish and chips. Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers with the waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
