The property

Kipper Cottage is a charming traditional fisherman’s cottage located in the historic village of Port Isaac, just 75 yards from the harbour. Originally built in the mid 1700's, this delightful holiday home enjoys a quiet pedestrian street opposite 'Doc Martin's Aunt Ruth's Cottage, and can sleep five guests in three bedrooms with a family bathroom and en-suite WC. The delightful cottage also offers a sunny courtyard making it ideal for alfresco dining and family breaks on the Cornish coast. Allocated parking space for one car at the top of the village approximately 10 minutes walk away. Whilst retaining its original character, the self-catering cottage has been upgraded to a boutique standard to provide a spacious home from home. A front porch provides an area for shoes and coats after a day at the beach or on the cliff walks and leads to a utility room with a washing machine and dryer. Well furnished throughout, the ground floor offers a cosy living room with a wood burner and comfortable sofas, and a TV/DVD with BT free channels with access to internet TV, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the village or the local beaches and towns along the coastline. The well-equipped open plan kitchen and dining area is all set for preparing meals for the family. Upstairs, the light filled family bathroom can be found along with the three bedrooms including the master king bedroom with en-suite WC/wash hand basin, the double bedroom and a single bedroom. Port Isaac village is truly picturesque and a perfect holiday location, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the rugged coastline of North Cornwall. Wander through the narrow streets surrounded by Grade II listed buildings, discovering the quaint shops, cafes and character-filled pubs and restaurants along with local history of wrecks and smugglers. Catch the Fisherman’s Friends, the world famous sea shanty group, performing on the Platt during summer months and even the filming of famous TV series Doc Martin, or other past or future filming locations. Walk along the beautiful coastal paths around the stunning coast, take a Kayak or boat to explore the Coast from the sea, or take a short drive to Polzeath beach, Daymer Bay or Rock, for the water ferry across to Padstow. Alternatively, explore the ruins of King Arthur's Castle and Merlin's Cave at Tintagel.Ground floor: Porchway - coats and shoes Kitchen/dining room Living room Utility room with washing machine and dryer First floor: Bedroom 1: King size bedroom with en-suite WC/Wash hand basin Bedroom 2: Double bedroom Family bathroom: Bath with shower over, WC, Wash hand basin Bedroom 3: Single bedroom

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
