Located just a stones throw from The Lawns is a number of eateries to choose from; Restaurant Nathan Outlaw with jaw-dropping sea and coastal views to admire while trying some on Nathan’s specialities, The Port Gaverne Hotel and Pichards café to name a few. The pretty coastal village of Port Isaac has many stories where historically, it was run as a busy fishing port and from the Middle Ages to the mid-19th century, it was an active harbour where cargoes like stone, coal, timber and pottery were loaded and unloaded not forgetting the fishing and fish processing which still happens there today. In recent years, the village is internationally known for its close association with the television series ‘Doc Martin’, ‘Poldark’ and of course the home of the sea shanty singers the Fishermans Friends who still perform at home on occasions during the summer.
