Dog-friendly Daymer Bay is a very short walk from Greenaway Reach, from the garden gate turn left along the coast path. It is an area of clear blue bathing water and rock-pools and just behind the beach is the pretty St Enodoc church and to the other end Brea Hill. Daymer is also very popular with windsurfers and kite-surfers when conditions are right and at low tide you can walk the mile of golden sand along the protected Camel estuary around to Rock to catch the ferry over to Padstow. Turning right from the house along the coast path takes you to Polzeath, for many this is Britain's best surf beach with great cafes, galleries and restaurants on offer. A short drive up the coast lies the pretty fishing harbour of Port Isaac - home to the three Michelin stars of chef Nathan Outlaw and the location for the Doc Martin TV series.
