Just off Daymer Lane and only a short walk from Daymer Bay beach, this beautiful and sophisticated country house benefits from being in one of the most desirable spots on the North Cornwall coast. Immortalised in poetry and frequented by the Poet Laureate the late Sir John Betjeman in his youth, Torquil stands in extensive enclosed grounds, which are perfect for a family getaway or a group holiday.
Befitting the era it was founded, the house boasts a classical feel throughout, with a recent renovation subtly ensuring it is well equipped, with comfortable furnishings, a large and sunny kitchen, claw foot baths throughout and a beautifully presented sitting room, perfect for entertaining. As well as being the perfect summer spot for alfresco dining and swimming in the sea, a cosy log fire makes it a great winter escape too. The property also benefits from a private gymnasium, sauna and jacuzzi, available on separate request.
Daymer Bay has a gently shelving sandy beach that is perfect for small children. Within walking distance are the fairways of St Enodoc golf club which has international recognition, and also the pretty St. Enodoc Church - the burial place of the aforementioned Sir John Betjeman. Coastal paths are a stone's throw from the house, taking you towards Rock and the Camel Estuary in one direction, and the Greenaway and the popular surfing beach Polzeath in the other. There are numerous places to eat close to hand, ranging from beach cafes, quintessential country pubs, to Michelin Star restaurants.
