This beautifully converted stone barn is conveniently situated at the bottom of Porthilly Lane with access directly onto Porthilly beach. Being part of a working dairy and oyster farm, Little Tides provides an insight to the best of the North Cornwall coast. The farm runs a boat park providing private access to the beach so guests are more than welcome to bring canoes or boats and launch free of charge. When in season the owners also provide a complimentary sample of Camel estuary mussels and oysters which are purified on the farm. Sleeping 2 people in 1 bedroom, this property is a romantic and relaxing holiday retreat with allocated parking; although as it is located on a working farm, please expect some noise and farming activity.
In tune with its setting and tasteful furnishings, this barn is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The spacious, light living area is open plan with a slate floor and exposed beams; stairs lead up to a characterful mezzanine bedroom with wood flooring and vaulted ceiling.
Porthilly is a beautiful, relatively undiscovered cove just a stone's throw from Rock beach, the sailing club, ski school and all the activities that the Camel estuary offers. At high tide this is an easy place to learn the art of stand up paddle-boarding; hire a board from the ski school or even have a lesson. Walk onto the coastal path that leads all the way around the dunes to Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Pentire Point and beyond. There is a gorgeous view of Padstow from Porthilly; hop on the foot ferry at Rock to explore this vibrant fishing town with its celebrated seafood restaurants and bustling harbour. Perhaps stroll up the hill to visit Prideaux Place, an Elizabethan manor house or walk out to Stepper Point with its panoramic sea views of the estuary and Atlantic ocean.
