Peppercorn Cottage is a traditional detached holiday cottage on the outskirts of Rock village that has been updated, whilst retaining its considerable character and charm. The self catering property sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. With mature landscaped lawned gardens and a lavender edged patio area, perfect for morning coffee or evening dining, Peppercorn Cottage offers good off road parking for several cars and is the ideal base for a family holiday on the North Cornwall coast.
The generous entrance hallway has a cloakroom set off it and leads onto a light and comfortable living room with a large open fire, original beamed ceilings and wonderful thick stone walls. Pleasantly decorated with a light touch, this is a really lovely room to relax in with windows overlooking the garden. The large kitchen with its traditional AGA, has a larder with a convenient breakfast table for feeding hungry children, as well as an electric oven for those not used to AGA cooking. Retire to the handsome dining room for more formal dining to linger over hearty meals and recount all the days adventures and plan the next. Outside there is a handy shower to wash off sandy toes and damp wetsuits. Upstairs the master bedroom offers a Queen size bed with an en suite shower room with under-floor heating. Two other pleasant rooms offer twin beds and one further bunk bedroom all share the spacious family bathroom also with under-floor heating. Please note that the stairs are open with a banister on the wall only and might not be suitable for young children.
Rock offers excellent walks either along the coastal paths or via the beach. A mile of golden sands bordered by sand dunes is a great way to exercise and enjoy the beauty of the Camel estuary. The Rock Sailing Club offers many opportunities to race, whilst the Camel Ski School offers dinghy and paddle-board hire, waterskiing or wake-boarding. There are a good selection of shops to cater for all your grocery needs including a butcher, bakery, fishmonger, delicatessen and Spar shop, plus a range of clothing and homeware shops to satisfy any urges for some retail therapy. Rock boasts some fine restaurants of its own; St Enodoc Hotel, The Dining Room, The Mariners, The Rock Inn and The Blue Tomato Cafe. Over the water in Padstow, just a short ferry ride away, you will also find Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth, making this area a veritable food lovers paradise!
