New for 2017 - Owls Rest in Rock
Tucked away in a mature wooded valley near the centre of Rock, Owls Rest is a generous sized detached holiday home that can sleep up to six guests in 3 comfortable bedrooms with a further guest in the small single bedroom. With open plan social living set on the first floor, you can step onto the decked balcony and take a moment to escape your busy life while you listen to the birdsong ringing up the valley and appreciate the peaceful rural views. Relax after an energetic day on the beach with some alfresco dining out on the sunny decked terrace before you retire to the living room, watching a favourite film by the fireside. Private parking for 4 cars.
Perfect for a family retreat, Owls Rest offers three bedrooms all located on the ground floor including; one bunk bedroom, a comfortable double bedroom and a king size master bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Step outside into the private enclosed courtyard and unwind with a book on the sheltered decked area. Upstairs on the first floor, the open living chalet style accommodation offers vaulted ceilings and gives the feeling of living high up in a tree house. With books and games there is plenty to do even if the weather won't play ball! Outside, a utility room also provides additional storage for all your beach gear.
Enjoy this calm, rural retreat away from the hubbub of busy life and take time to really make the most of the space that this peaceful home offers. However, its central location means that you can also walk down to Porthilly beach in a matter of minutes if you take the footpath. From Porthilly you can visit the historic St Michaels' church, pop into local artist Jethro Jackson's gallery or even purchase some estuary oysters for an indulgent evening meal. At low tide head across to Rock beach to enjoy sailing, waterskiing, inflatable rides and paddle boarding, with tuition and equipment hire available locally. Stop a while to enjoy the cafes, shops and restaurants that Rock has to offer. If you fancy an excursion, we recommend catching the Black Tor foot ferry across to Padstow to explore this bustling working harbour with its many shops, galleries and restaurants on offer. Golfers are well catered for with the St Enodoc Golf Club and nearby Point at Polzeath both offering challenging 18-hole courses.
Please be aware that the grounds are enclosed to one side by a low fence which leads down a steep bank to a stream.
