Stokes Cottage
Description
A delightful, charming cottage in the peaceful village of St. Minver with beautifully styled interiors that create a calm and comforting feeling, situated just up the quiet lane from the enchanting 12th-century Church. Stokes Cottage offers an idyllic combination as the character of the original cottage has been retained, but thoughtfully updated with tasteful, contemporary furnishings and modern facilities, that complement the original features. From the moment you step into the sitting room, you can relax into your Cornish holiday by kicking off your shoes and sinking into the sofa to recharge after your journey. In the winter months, enjoy this perfect refuge to while away the hours by curling up with a book in the snug armchair in front of a roaring open fire after a bracing coastal walk! Following through into the brand-new kitchen you have all the cooking facilities you need, whether it's to prepare you for the day ahead with a full English breakfast or coming back to a rustle up a hearty family dinner. After a heavenly day at the beach you can retreat to your Cornish bolthole and enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine in the sheltered courtyard, finished with its attractive slate patio and surrounding planting. Upstairs, the characterful master bedroom is graced with natural light flooding in through the sash windows while the bright, airy twin bedroom offers extra adults or children their own cosy space to escape and rest peacefully. The new, modern bathroom provides a stand alone shower and the ultimate convenience of modern facilities to freshen up in.
Within the village of St. Minver, you can venture over to the local beach at Rock, renowned for its sandy shores out to the Camel Estuary. Here you can hone your skills on the water with Camel Ski School's experiences in water-skiing and sailing or for the more laid back lifestyle, soak up the atmosphere in any of the many local pubs, cafes and restaurants. From Rock you can continue on and explore the coastline with a picturesque walk along the South West Coastal Path around Brea Hill (or up and over for those with a bucketful of energy!) to the spectacular Daymer Bay, Greenaway and Polzeath. A charming hideaway in a great location for enjoying the Cornish coast.

What guests are saying
We really enjoyed our stay at Stokes Cottage and found it a comfy and welcoming home with everything we needed.
Good location for exploring the area. Notes for the owner not for the review. The shower door came off its’ track on several occasions and this was also mentioned by other guests in the guest book in the accommodation. We managed to get it back in the tracks but other people may not know how to do it or be able enough to. My husband who fits bathrooms said it looked like it was twisted at the bottom. Also to note the shower tray started filling up and I had to remove a lot of hair from the trap which wasn’t very pleasant so maybe something to mention to the cleaning/maintenance team. Finally the step down from the bedrooms and up to bathroom is quite severe and we had elderly parents with us so we’re worried they could fall down it when getting up in the night. We solved this by spending £7 with Amazon to get some mini lights which come on once movement was sensed. It might be worth thinking of adding these.
Lovely little cottage with all you could need for a short stay.
Furnished to a high standard and comfortable, we would gladly return. Minor niggles include the 9:30am check-out and the lack of parking.
Stokes Cottage had everything you need for a stay in the wonderful Cornwall!
Short 5 minute hop to Polzeath beach or down to Rock for a drink and relax. The home is quaint and very well equipped and the owners have thought of everything. We will definitely be considering another trip to stokes cottage and I recommend you do to.
