Puffin Lodge

Great little lodge only a short walk down to Port Isaac.

The lodge had everything we needed to have a wonderful holiday. The double bed mattress could have been better and the boiler made odd noises during the night but that didn't stop us from having a good time.

A lovely stay.

Loved the cabin very well laid out and very well equipped. Not far from many local attractions so plenty to see and do and some lovely walks. Would stay again

We really enjoyed our stay.

The lodge had all the amenities required, was really comfortable. A fantastic view. We enjoyed visiting the animals & watching the swallows flying around. Location wise it was a little walk into Port Isaac, some of which was on the main road. We enjoyed a trip to Port Gaverne especially enjoyed the food in the Pub. In the Lodge the shower had a strong flow but didn't run away that well. The mattress could have been a little thicker but this didn't detract from our stay. Thank you

Great location property needs some TLC and a tin opener we had to borrow one.

It does not state where you put the recycling only general waste. The window in the main bedroom needs a new double glazing unit. I must say the local agent were very quick to fix some small issues we reported. Reported at at 9am and when we came back at 3 all fixed

We were surprised and very pleased at the location and size of the lodge.

It's a beautiful place and the lodge is spacious and well-equipped. Absolutely no complaints at all and we had a lovely long weekend in gorgeous surroundings. Highly recommended if you want peace and quiet, but with proximity to beautiful coastal walks and easy access to lovely Port Issac which has restaurants and cafes. Thank you for letting us stay.

Fantastic lodge, ideally situated for visiting, Port Isaac, just a stroll into the village, short drive to Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow.

Perfect sea views from the lounge area, lovely field for our dog to run around in. Well equipped kitchen every thing you need. Very comfortable beds, nice big bathroom. Lovely to see the ducks wading around in the puddles whilst enjoying breakfast. Would highly recommend and will happily visit again.

We enjoyed our stay at the puffin lodge.

A wonderful place.

Lovely location with nice views.

Layout of Lodge good with all the facilities needed. Lovely and peaceful.

A ‘“wow” from us.

Bigger and better than we’d imagined. As instructed, we informed owners of our arrival and the fact that one of the glass tumblers was cracked. Some sort of acknowledgment of our message would have been reassuring. The accommodation was great. We would make a couple more suggestions to ensure suitability for disabled persons: Provide soap-holder in shower; Mirror at lower level, for those in wheelchair; Tap spouts over kitchen sink could do with being longer (currently too short to enable filling of plastic bowl)

We stayed for a three night break in late March.

Very cold wind and showery. Puffin lodge was the perfect base. After walking all day we returned to a very well equipped lodge that was beautifully warm and copious amounts of hot water for showers. A couple of small suggestions, please add some coat hooks and a shower caddy. The views were great but it would be better if the guests cars parked at the sides of the lodges and did not obstruct the view. Overall a great place to stay, we will be back if you will have us.

I firstly have to say that for the £300 for the three of us that stayed was good value.

..secondly if I had turned up in and or around the peak season paying upwards £700++ I would be severely disappointed, In general terms the holding looks very tired and slightly dated/needs a paint and done neatly as in various areas it is plane and visible to see, missed paint and general looks of a rush job. The plastering looks strange and only half skimmed type look/when pulling the cord for the extractor fan in the bathroom it almost pulls the casing and or fan off the ceiling/again the painting lets this area down/when the wind is blowing reasonably hard you cannot sleep as it's too noisy. The kitchen my friends told me [they arrived on the Sunday and me on the Monday] they had to basically clean the kitchen and especially the cooker area and it. there was food bits in and around the area, the fridge is dated and a little rusty/the frying pan fell apart when my friend was using it, there was another so used that...cutlery old and needs replacing a long with general food prep tools [knives were blunt etc for something decent and maybe a good chopping board]. Not really enough choice in glassware etc but it was enough. I would in the future if funds permitted get a slightly bigger TV for the lounge as it is a little bit too small nut adequate... I could not fault the layout of the grounds and very neat and tidy and the view was amazing...there is no facility for being eco friendly and recycling etc with bins...might be a thought for the future. The worst thing for me personally is that it stated it came with wifi...My friends cell phone coverage with their provider was excellent, unfortunately for me I had zero signal. They didn't need the wifi but for me there was almost zero wifi then whole entire time, I initially put it down to the weather but there was times with no wind and no rain and still nothing, may I advise a simple fix would be to put a repeater in the holding itself then it boosts the signal from their farm house [I am presuming that is the originating router for the wifi it's self. i would generally ask for some of the money back but as I said in the beginning for this time of year £100 each for a week is OK value but the general up-keep/cleaning and updating would need to happen if I was to come back in high season. If I'd turned up in summer I would be demanding a refund and leaving as for that amount of money it would definitely not pay a high price for. We saw your cleaners turn up next door to clean after some guests had left...one was in the car on her phone and the man was inside and the amount of time spent in there, I'm sorry but it wouldn't be enough time to do a thorough clean...I work in the ambulance service in London now but 15 years ago I worked in the private yachting and hotel business as a purser and butler, so I do know what a basic cottage should look to new guests coming in and at the same time not expecting what I used to perform but the basic's were not met as per advert sorry. But I want to highlight for this time of year good value and the grounds to the property immaculate but for high season I think a better standard could be achieved for little effort

This was our second visit to Puffin Lodge and we really enjoyed it again!

It was clean, comfortable and most importantly quiet. We loved the sea view and being able to walk into Port Isaac easily. It would be nice if check in was a little earlier and check out a little later, but that won’t stop us booking again in the future.

Great location on the outskirts of port Isaac great sea Veiws easy reach of main road a lovely week spent in puffin lodge

The most wonderful lodge, in the most wonderful setting.

I will definitely be back.

Handles on mugs not designed very good to hold hot tea , just a little cricitism , all good

Really pleasant stay.

Think a guest book where you can write comments and suggestions to future clients would be a bonus. Amazing wildlife and cracking spot. We will be visiting again.

We stayed in the puffin lodge on the farm.

The grounds are very well maintained with lovely views of the ocean. Inside the lodge, we loved the open plan kitchen and living room as well as the rest of the lodge. All in all we couldn’t fault it and will certainly book to stay there again.

It was a nice warm apartment and for self catering it was ideal.

The Settees was a bit difficult to get out of, a bit uncomfortable. Apart from that we had a lovely time. It also had a nice view of the sea.
