Stop Tide

A wonderful property in an excellent location.

The owner was very quick at responding to an issue we had with the plumbing- it was all sorted within a day. Would definitely return.

Lovely property in a great location

One of the main reasons we chose Stop Tide was the outside space, however it is poorly maintained and the smell from next doors oil tank meant we couldn't sit outside.

The patio needed weeding, the garden needs some attention, there was a broken electrical light and at the front the planter is disintegrating. The door key is very temperamental which meant at times it was very difficult to lock the door. Inside there is an issue with the water pressure which means an awful noise is emitted at times when the cold tap is on and some spot light bulbs are out. It was clean and the location was great, but we were disappointed at the maintenance standard.

A couple of very minor points which did NOT spoil our visit: 1.

The cold water system makes a high pitched whining sound quite frequently when any cold water tap is turned on - especially in the morning. 2. The front door lock is sticky upon locking. Would benefit from some WD40. We will be booking again next year :)

Stop Tide was a nice, comfortable clean house.

A great base to explore Cornwall. Enjoyed our walks into nearby Port Isaac. Would recommend Stop Tide to anyone who wants to stay in this beautiful part of the country.

This is my 5th year staying at Stop Tide, the property has everything you could want or need and is delightful.

You have the cove at Port Gaverne at the bottom of the road and it's the perfect base for exploring both locally and further a field.

Lovely welcoming cottage, beautifully styled with everything we needed.

Few minutes walk to the beach with parking on the driveway. Excellent base for Port Gaverne, Port Isaac and visiting other places across Cornwall. Would definitely return.

Lovely cottage in a nice location.

The surrounding area is very hilly so make sure you are ready to hike and yomp. The cottage is very well catered for both in the kitchen and throughout the rest of the house. The open plan downstairs is great to have everyone together while doing different things. The rooms are lovely and dark at night and if you leave the window open you get the soothing sound of the sea in the background. My only suggestion for improvements (really nit picking here) is the armchairs are a little uncomfortable if you are taller. The layout of the living room makes everyone snuggling down after a long day to watch a film difficult.

Well situated and nicely kitted out and furnished.

Very comfortable beds and sofas for relaxing. John Bray we’re very slow at responding to a request to alter our booking. However, when in the cottage the problem with the water was swiftly and efficiently sorted by the call centre support in Kossova.

Internally and location wise Stop Tide was excellent.

The beds were very comfortable (better than at home!) and the kitchen was very well equipped. Location was amazing with just a short 2 min walk to both the beach and the pub, and a 5 min walk up into Port Isaac. Parking was a real bonus, as it's very limited in Port Gaverne usually, and Wifi was good. The only issue was the outside space at the back of the property, where a light was broken (we reported it for repair) and both the furniture and patio surface needed a good clean. It didn't spoil our enjoyment though and we used it daily. We would definitely book Stop Tide again.

Another lovely stay at Stoptide.

Different time of year this time visited during term time. Alot quieter so more peaceful . Still visited our old favourite beaches etc. Weather was kind to us. House and contents Still clean and inviting. Keeping an eye out for when next years availability is published as we will be back again. Keith & Marianne

A truly outstanding holiday let.

Pristine condition and kitted out to the very highest standard. Perfect location with excellent access to the village with a very important feature of parking on the driveway. Every need was met and you could not even consider to “ look” for any faults or shortfalls. Will definitely be recommending this property to others.

This is my fifth stay at Stop Tide, and I've already booked for 2025.

Why? Because this is simply the perfect house and base for exploring Cornwall. The house has everything you could need, and more. And most importantly, has parking, and the beautiful Port Gaverne cove a matter of steps away. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Excellent and comfy stay at Stoptide.

We stayed a few times in these cottages when Dennis Knight owned them so they have changed alot since then. Stayed at a property at Castle Rock since built but last year we decided as it needed a lot of TLC we would have a change. Glad we did and have already booked again for next year.

Fab cottage.

Clean comfortable cosy & perfect location. Please indicate where cutlery is to be found ? We spent first day in complete despair !! It’s hidden. Also needs one casserole dish with LID to put in oven for slow cooking. One larger pan might help too. Otherwise. All perfect !

We had a lovely week staying at Stop Tide with our 3 children.

The house is extremely clean, comfortable and really felt like a home from home. We enjoyed our walks up to Port Isaac and swimming at Port Gaverne. We liked the fact we could park up outside the house and everywhere was accessible by foot. We would highly recommend this holiday cottage to friends and family!

This is my second visit to Stop Tide and definitely not my last.

This is the perfect holiday home - it has everything you need(including parking and a small garden), and all the extra touches make it very homely. The location is ideal for exploring locally (Port Issac and Port Gaverne), and further afield, such as St Michael's Mount. Thank you so much for providing a wonderful holiday base.

We love this property so much - great location, so convenient and great to have parking.

Very clean. A crib sheet / quick instructions on hot water would be good so we have enough hot water for first evening.

Very well equipped, (nice to have sharp knives) , comfy beds and fitted out to high standard throughout . Very handy for the beach and pub/restuarant and for walking along the coastal path.

clean and tidy and fantastic location

The property description is very good albeit a modern house and not a traditional cottage type property It is located in very quiet spot.

there is a Hotel nearby which serves food advisable to book if you wish eat it gets busy. No shops in sensible walking distance Coop in Port Isaac for groceries etc you need your car to drive up the hill into Port Isaac. The property is maintained to a very high standard with all modern facilities. The only issue we noticed was the hot water system is very low in pressure you have to run the hot tap for quite awhile before the water gets hot. Not environmentally friendly such a waste of precious water. Perhaps a pump being installed would resolve this issue.
