The property

Upper Gren is a detached property on a private estate with patio and lawned gardens. In a fabulously elevated position with the most magnificent sea views looking west to Stepper point over the mouth of the estuary. The holiday house is accessed via a private unmade road and is within easy walking distance to the relatively undiscovered Greenaway beach and coastal footpaths to Polzeath or Daymer Bay. A welcome hideaway for an extended family or two, it sleeps 8 in four bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Private parking for 2 cars. Upper Gren has a rustic seaside feel inside and the living spaces simply draw your eyes straight out to the incredible seascape. The property has a practical slate terrace making the most of those near uninterrupted views, an idyllic spot for a sundowner as you watch the sun set smoothly down into the horizon. There is a kingsize bed in the main bedroom with an ensuite and three further bedrooms with twin beds one of which has twin beds which can convert to a 6ft bed. The self-catering property offers versatile arrangements for friends or families.Walking, beachcombing, rock pooling or swimming are immediately available here and a walk up to the local shop, cafe or pub can satisfy any hunger pangs after all that fresh seaside air. Sign up at the local surf school round at Polzeath beach and find more options there for the brave including coasteering and paddle-boarding. Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers with the waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
