“Great property and a great location- open plan area made for family holidays.”

Great sunsets. Comfortable and clean - fantastic constant hot showers and outdoor shower. Great to have extra beer fridge on ground floor. Suggest new table Mats and glasses but still good assortment. Downstairs front rooms can hear everyone moving on the first floor - very loud in the night ( squeaky and creaky floor)

“Suggest you supply sufficient wine glasses for ten adults, I had to purchase my own for my birthday dinner party More important advise clients there is an Induction Hob as these are not suitable for people with Pacemakers.”

I was lucky enough to have plenty of willing hands to take over the cooking. Very fraustrating for me as the hostess.. Correct information with regard to the coffee machine. On advice from your office I purchases Tassimo coffee pods,which were unusable in eye machine in the house. The house is amazing and we alll loved being there, and will certainly return

“One big improvement would be to leave the bank on the side of the lawn unstrimmed.”

Then wild flowers, even a shrub, would grow, and make the "garden" much more interesting. At the moment it is a boring desert. The lawn would still be used for games etc. One complaint: the outlet to the shower in bedroom 1 does not drain due to blockage.

“I think the owner need to provide fans for the downstairs bedrooms, as they are a bit stuffy.”

Also, there was virtually no toilet paper on arrival, no paper towel, no soap, no garbage bags, washing machine pellets or dish liquid. I’ve never been in a rental house where I have to provide all these essentials myself. The house is in a good location and is very convenient to the beach.

“Point break is a lovely house, in a perfect location.”

We have booked point break again for next year, this will be our 3rd holiday in this house. We would like to have had a washing line, there was one on our 1st visit and a vacuum cleaner would have been handy. We did have a problem with a horrible smell in the upstairs bedroom, hopefully this will be sorted out soon. We look forward to returning next year

“The heating wasn’t working but you provided heaters which was fine but the freezer wasn’t working either and that wasn’t mentioned and was inconvenient.”

With both these issues I think a token amount should have been taken off the fee. However the staff are very helpful and friendly.

“Lovely property in an excellent position.”

Having read previous reviews about the lack of basic items (glasses, bowls etc) we asked Sykes in advance to rectify this. Happy to report that by the time we arrived, the house was fully stocked with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Slight issue with drains odour and the 30% price hike since last year were the only things that marred an otherwise perfect holiday.

I contacted the agent ahead of our stay concerned about the previous negative reviews- the sofas and carpets were clean and overall it was spotless. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would definitely book again.

About the location

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
