The property

Westward 8 is a contemporary ground floor self catering holiday apartment on a small complex in Polzeath, with communal grounds and parking for one vehicle. Ideally suited to a beach mad family of 4 with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, or 4 friends looking for a surfing break or simply enjoy the stunning coastal paths that surround the property. All everyday shopping requirements are within walking distance and there is a choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants for delicious meals complete with sea views! The accommodation comprises of 1 double bedroom and 1 twin room with a stylish open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. The location couldn't be more perfect for beach and sea lovers with a leisurely two-minute walk down to the thriving surf spot of Polzeath. The stunning coastal path towards Pentire Point with towering cliffs and rocky coves is fairly strenuous and exhilarating. For a gentler meander, guests could take the coastal path towards the calmer waters and sand dunes of Daymer Bay and the Camel Estuary. There are loads of activities available from the village with surf schools, coasteering, equipment hire and of course simply swimming, paddling or rock pooling in the many fascinating pools, which run alongside the cliffs on both sides of the bay. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer months to keep an eye on all the budding surfers and to keep little ones and swimmers away from any danger. If anyone feels like a day out then the picturesque fishing harbour of Port Isaac, known for its film and TV fame, is well worth a visit and only a 15-minute drive away. Other nearby beaches to explore include Daymer Bay, Greenaway and Rock, with its passenger ferry across to Padstow. Accommodation: Open Plan Sitting Room/Kitchen/Dining Area. Bedroom 1: Double Bed (4ft 6). Bedroom 2: Twin Beds. Bathroom with W.C. & Shower Westward 8 does not accept pets.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
