  • “Had a really lovely time staying in westward 8 and everything met standards however there where a few little things we think would improve the stay there.”

We only had one toilet roll, so had to go and buy more. The sofa was slightly annoying as the cushions would never stay on the bottom, they would just slide off as soon as you sat down so maybe so velcro would be a good idea on the bottom of the cushions . And we were also expecting abit more of a sea view so maybe mention that the windows don’t face the sea. Also the lights in the bedrooms where great for lighting however they where I but low for taller people as my fiancé kept hitting his head on them.so maybe adjusting them slightly would help prevent and broken lights x

For a gentler meander, guests could take the coastal path towards the calmer waters and sand dunes of Daymer Bay and the Camel Estuary. There are loads of activities available from the village with surf schools, coasteering, equipment hire and of course simply swimming, paddling or rock pooling in the many fascinating pools, which run alongside the cliffs on both sides of the bay. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer months to keep an eye on all the budding surfers and to keep little ones and swimmers away from any danger. If anyone feels like a day out then the picturesque fishing harbour of Port Isaac, known for its film and TV fame, is well worth a visit and only a 15-minute drive away. About the location

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
