“Really lovely property, really great location.”

This is a well loved property, which we really enjoyed. Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little tired and we had a small issue with a curtain pole falling out of the wall, but Sykes were great about sorting the issue for us.

The property

This charming single-story home, Lowenda, is conveniently located in the seaside community of Polzeath, Cornwall. Lowenda welcomes a total of seven guests to take in a tranquil seascape in Cornwall, benefiting from easy access to local facilities and the beautiful Polzeath Beach. After arriving at your new home away from home, ease your feet onto the comfortable couches in the living room and prepare to catch up on your favourite shows or enjoy a movie night as the wood stove roars. If you prefer, step outside into the enclosed garden where you can enjoy an alfresco feast while you toast to a memorable escape with a glass of wine in hand. Up a spiral staircase from the main garden you will find the top deck with stunning views across to the sea. Here, you can check the surf, watch the waves draw in and in the evening, enjoy the prime spot for the incredible sunsets. When coming back from the beach you can walk up the footpath away from the main road to Lowenda, where the convenient outside shower is enclosed for privacy which makes refreshing from the surf even more comfortable. After a long day out, why not make use of the brick-built barbecue in the garden when the sun shines or allow the designated chef of your group to rustle up a tasty meal in the well-equipped kitchen before sitting down at the dining table to tuck in. You also have a gorgeous summer house with board games and books to enjoy, as well as a utility room in the main house, so you will have all the conveniences of home to make your stay memorable. Have a warm bath before selecting one of the four immaculately equipped bedrooms, which include two wonderfully presented doubles, a twin at the front of the house, and a single bedroom which has the feel of its own suite, given its adjoining bathroom. Start your Cornish itinerary along the coast at Polzeath Beach, perhaps borrowing a couple of spare body boards from Lowenda, a lovely seaside location where you and your loved ones can while away the day building sandcastles, testing your skills in the waves, or simply basking in the sun. Walk the coastal path to Pentire Point, a stunning vantage point for wildlife spotting with panoramic views across the Camel Estuary or take the short drive to the remains of Doyden Castle. Keen golfers will appreciate the two beautiful courses at St Enodoc Golf Club nearby which stretches from Rock to Brea Hill while for a more laid back day, paddle in the shores at Daymer Bay beach or take in the local art galleries in Polzeath and Rock. Go to Padstow on the foot ferry, where Padstow Sealife Story, National Lobster Hatchery and Padstow Museum are all located. Children will love the Camel Creek Family Theme Park which is not far from Padstow by car or for culture, spend the day in Wadebridge town or Bodmin, where there are many shops, restaurants, and pubs to choose from in addition to the Bodmin Town Museum, and Bodmin Keep- Cornwall's Army Museum. With a stay at Lowenda, you can experience a unique getaway in Cornwall.

About the location

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
