The property
Treverden is a stunning, detached luxury cliff-top house set in extensive gardens with undoubtedly the most spectacular and uninterrupted sea views over Polzeath Bay. The property has recently undergone renovations, there is a new dining room, bedroom, bathroom, and games room that have been added. The panoramic vista takes in Stepper Point, Gulland Rock, Newland, and Pentire Point with unmissable and unforgettable sunsets creating beautiful colours throughout the house on clear evenings. It has been completely refurbished and extended to create a sophisticated yet inviting family holiday home that will comfortably sleep 12 guests in 6 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. Extensive parking can be found at the rear of Treverden, which is approached via a quiet, private lane. At the bottom of the garden is a gate leading you directly onto the coastal path and down onto Polzeath beach. The luxurious and elegant interior is arranged over 3 floors with two bedrooms on the top floor. One with 4 single beds and the other with a super king-size double that can also be set up as two singles. The stylish bedrooms on the first floor are very comfortable and three have super-king-size beds all with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a bunk bedroom. On the ground floor, there is a new dining room off the kitchen with a 16-foot dining table, and the open plan kitchen/dining room combines comfort with a nod to modern style and flows in towards the roomy living room and out onto the stunning stone terrace, creating a sociable, family space. To one side of the terrace, there is built-in seating set around a BBQ, for perfect sunset viewing. Wander down through the terraced lawned gardens to find a gate at the bottom that opens directly onto the coast path and steps down onto Polzeath beach. Treverden offers everything you'll need to have a wonderful seaside holiday, whatever the weather. After a bracing swim or surf in the sea, wash off the sand in the outside shower. The wet room has space for all your beach paraphernalia and boasts a sauna to revive tired muscles and cold feet. The top floor sitting room area and the enormous new games room at the back of the house allows your children or teenagers to escape from the grownups (and vice versa). A walk from the garden along the beach or the coastal path will take you into Polzeath village in minutes. Pasties, beach shops, bars, and restaurants can be found easily and there's even a well-stocked Spar shop for all your basic needs. Wadebridge is 6 miles distant with all the usual town amenities. Closer to home, Daymer Bay offers plenty of fishing, rock-pooling, and swimming in the sheltered waters of the Camel Estuary. Water sports enthusiasts will find sailing, water-skiing, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, and more at nearby Rock Beach. You can catch the ferry from here to explore Padstow's bustling harbour town, shops, and great eateries. About the location
POLZEATH
Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.
The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
