“The location is excellent, but that belies what is in store in Beehive Cottage.”

Cottage was filthy (dirty cutlery and glassware in drawers), the sofa, rugs and cushions stank and /or were worn and grimy. We attempted to use the vacuum cleaner but the smell emanating from it was so bad it couldn’t be used. The bunk bed had had the ladder removed so the children couldn’t safely use the top bunk. The clothes airer was broken but left for guests to use anyway. It could just about be used if crudely propped up. Shower loses pressure if another tap, washing machine or dishwasher running at same time. The provided bbq was unusable as the gas had run out The garden is very nice which is a small mercy as it meant we could sit outside in the mornings for a coffee (having stuck all of the crockery through the dishwasher again). This is the only time we spent in the cottage. As a result of the above issues we didn’t eat in there once. We left having had a great week in Cornwall slightly soured by the disappointing accommodation.

Thank you for your review. I’m very sorry to hear that your experience at Beehive Cottage did not meet expectations. The issues you raised regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and facilities are being taken seriously. We are currently addressing all of the points mentioned: the vacuum and soft furnishings are being professionally cleaned; the bunk bed ladder and clothes airer are being repaired and replaced; the BBQ gas supply will now be routinely checked; and the water pressure is under review by our maintenance team. While I’m pleased you enjoyed the garden and your time in Cornwall. Your feedback is appreciated and is helping us improve the guest experience. Property Owner
