42 Little Trelyn

We have hired several houses before in Rock and this was definitely one of our favourites.

Great location near Fees cafe and the SPAR/ nursery stores and still being able to walk down to the beach. Very comfy beds, cosy lounge area and lovely garden. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. So often rental houses aren’t properly thought out but this one you could tell someone had thought about everything e.g. enough clothes hangers, hooks on the back of the bathroom doors and mirrors where you need them. Sounds simple but so many rental houses don’t have that! The only thing we really didn’t get on with was the AGA. Instructions on the kitchen side could do with updating as for someone who hasn’t used an AGA before, they weren’t clear. They didn’t say that you had to turn on the h0bs to use them and the switch is hidden inside of the AGA. Also one night we tried to cook a frozen meal from Fees anbd after an hour despite boosting the oven it was still frozen in the middle. Maybe worth considering getting a normal oven for the house. Also as others have said the next-door neighbours car alarm going off in the middle of the night was very annoying. We will definitely come back though, it was a great house.

We loved the property, it was clean and comfortable with a lovely garden.

There were two downnsides….the kitchen isn’t very well stocked, no salad bowl or any big bowls or salad servers. Also the Aga was a real problem in a heatwave. The kitchen was so unbearably hot that we had to turn the Aga off which meant we couldn’t cook properly for 2 weeks. Baked beans in the microwave became a bit boring! I’m sure it’s wonderful in the winter though.

Very comfortable relaxing bungalow and garden.

Had a lovely holiday. Thanks for keeping it free of perfume for us. The AGA was fun to learn to use, and luckily they have a selection of AGA cookery books to help novices, and a fabulous butcher just up the road. Couldn't find any oven gloves though, so people might want to bring their own.

We have a wonderful week's stay at Little Trelyn.

It is in a lovely area and really feels like home. There are lots of walks nearby on easily accessible footpaths and a lovely butcher, fishmonger and baker, all within walking distance! I do not hesitate to recommend a stay here!

I had a very nice stay at this property.

It is very tastefully furnished and it is obvious that a lot of care has gone into this home. I always stay in Rock when I visit Cornwall as I love the area and have got to know it very well over the years. I have stayed in several different properties in the Trelyn area but this has to be the best so far. The welcome package of tea, milk, biscuits and Cornish muesli was also a lovely welcoming gesture. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely winter break at 42 Little Trelyn.

The bungalow was immaculate, decorated beautifully and was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our holiday. The accommodation is light and bright and very quiet. The garden was lovely and private and fully enclosed. For those people bringing a dog, there is access through the gate to the back of the bungalow and into a large tiled utility area good for drying off before settling next to the Aga. The bungalow was nicely located within walking distance of Fees, a lovely cafe serving great coffee and delicious breakfasts and lunch. The Mariners is not too far away for great food and there are local shops including bakery, supermarket and butchers. There are lovely walks directly from the bungalow to the beaches and also across the golf course to St Enodocs church and Daymer Bay. We really enjoyed our stay at 42 Little Trelyn and would love to return again.
