Spare Toilet rolls could have been supplied and maybe a little more time on departure.

A small welcome pack would have given 5 stars. After a long journey milk, suger, tea and a small jar of coffee would have been welcoming. If arriving late, would have had to Wait until the following morning for refreshments. The property was clean, tidy and comfortable. I would recommend to friends and family.

It’s a lovely,comfortable property with a large garden and driveway.The location was ideal for us and we hope to stay again.

We stayed at Cogenhoe from 13th to 20th June 2025 and found the house itself to be very comfortable and well-located.

It had everything we needed for a relaxing break and we appreciated the overall quality of the accommodation. However, our stay was let down by the bedding arrangements. All the duvets in the property were 10.5 tog, which proved to be far too hot—particularly during the mini heatwave we experienced. This significantly affected our comfort at night. I had contacted John Bray Cornish Holidays two weeks prior to our holiday to request lighter duvets, anticipating warmer weather, but unfortunately this request was not acknowledged before our arrival. On our first day at the property, I followed up with a phone call and email, I was informed that the only duvets provided by the owner were 10.5 tog. I later received an email stating: "Apologies that we did not respond to your inquiry sooner, however, we do not usually provide a specific tog size duvet for properties and tend to use what the owner has provided. I have had a look in our office store at Rock and cannot see a lower tog size than the 10.5 in stock. I will check with our linen driver to see if he has any of the duvets you require. We will let you know if this is possible." Sadly, no further update or alternative bedding was provided during our stay. Given the cost of the rental, we expected a more responsive and accommodating service. A simple solution like providing lighter, seasonally appropriate duvets would have made a significant difference.

Perfect for a family holiday. Very well equipped and in a convenient location, close to a pub and a well stocked village shop.

Quite simply perfect!

Cogenhoe is pound for pound probably the best holiday home that I've stayed in. It has everything that you need and nothing that you don't. Quality furnishings and a no pets rule mean that the property remains immaculate. The owner clearly knows what the customer wants. No silly prices here!

The holiday cottage was perfect for our family breakaway.

Fantastic property.

More spacious than the photos would suggest. Easily accommodated 8 adults. Plentty of parking for 5 cars. Probably the best equipped kitchen of any holiday property we have stayed in! Super comfy beds too. Would definitely visit again, but seems to be booked for the next 18 months! The only improvements that could be made would be to have bedding/towels included and a BBQ would have been useful.

We loved Cogenhoe.

The house was very well equipped and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean too. The garden was lovely, much bigger than expected. Our boys loved playing football in it. Lovely surprise to have a little bbq. Only slight irritation was having to sort the bedding separately. Would rather you just pushed up the cost of the rental slightly.

We have just returned from a stay at Cogenhoe, the house was immaculate when we arrived very spacious plenty of room for everyone especially on wet days .

The kitchen was one of the most well stocked in any rental we have stayed in, it made cooking for a family very pleasurable. The garden is also lovely and there is plenty of room to sit and enjoy the sun. We would definitely look to book again.

Every thinks was great

Cogenhoe was ideal accommodation for us, and with two young children was the perfect hub for the most interesting days out.

Just the beach down at Rock, getting the ferry to Padstow and back and having the kids tire themselves out enjoying the beach before back to a cosy Cogenhoe with the through lounge, so handy conservatory and roomy accommodation made for a great day. With plenty of fun days out no more than a short drive away, it was just a quality family time! Having had a supermarket delivery an hour after arrival, all the local shops and outlets were more than enough for top ups - all in all a magic pace to stay.

Lovely bungalow, home from home comfort.

The conservatory was a great place for the kids to play whilst the adults relaxed in the lounge. Location is perfect, short walk away from Rock Bakery in the mornings to pick up pasties and croissants and the Pytime pub is only 3 doors away if you don't fancy cooking. Fantastic beaches all within a short drive and loads of family days out if the weather is a but wet all within a short travelling time away. We have been holidaying in Rock now for over 50 years as a family and Cogenhoe is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The only think I couldnt find was a broom and a dustpan and brush to sweep up sand after a day at the beach, the hoover was there but sometimes it wouls have been quicker to sweep up. I will definately book Cogenhoe again.

This was our umpteenth Autumn holiday at Cogenhoe and the property continues to provide a level of comfort which makes it feel a real 'home from home'.

After the minor issue we had last year, it was re-assuring to step into the property which obviously had been thoroughly cleaned for us. Well done to Ruth! Apart from the weather during the latter part of our week, our family break was as good as usual.

Lovely big garden too. Close to the local pub. Not far from shop, bakery and chip shop. Rock beach is beautiful although it is a long walk from the property, there is a car park if you prefer to drive. Ferry in Rock will take you across to Padstow. The property is a great location to explore more of Cornwall.

Very pleased again with our visit to this lovely bungalow, We have stayed at Cogenhoe on at least 8 occasions, and thoroughly enjoyed each visit.

The property was exactly as listed and more.

The kitchen was well equipped beyond our expectations. Great location to go for a walk to the beach without needing to take the car. Amazing customer service from the owner through Sykes. We definitely recommend it to others even though we would like to keep this gem for ourselves.

House was exactly as advertised.

Good size, with plenty of room for everyone, and spotlessly clean. All the rooms were of a decent size and the garden also had space for the younger ones to play. All the facilities were above what was expected and there was more included than advertised. Would rent house again without hesitation if we all decided to return to Cornwall. Thanks for everything

The property was immaculately clean, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in.

It was also very well equipped for a holiday home. The main rooms were light, bright and airy and it was perfect for our needs, lovely to come back to & relax in after a busy day. We would definitely stay here again. Our only comment was that the curtains in the bedrooms look quite old & strangely not in keeping with the rest of the house’s decor & are very light - heavier curtains or black out blinds would help light sleepers! Other than that, it was fantastic!

Lovely large family/group accommodation. Spotless. Well equipped. Delighted. Modern and bright.

Just to mention that the mattresses on the bunk bed need replacing, as the children complained that the springs were causing them discomfort.

It would also have been nice to have had a barbecue at this property.

A very comfortable place to stay, we did not need for anything. Our favourite place is the Camel Valley Vineyard. To sit outside on their terrace sipping excellent wine on a warm sunny day, lovely!
