Description

Superbly located for enjoying this most exclusive area of Cornwall, in the village of Rock on the north east bank of the River Camel, opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow.

This beautiful detached house set in delightful gardens is situated in a cul-de-sac in a quiet residential area of the village only five minutes’ walk from the centre and its high class shops.

You walk through the front garden and enter this lovely house into the hallway which will take you into the spacious sitting room with a woodburner for those cooler evenings or winter nights after a walk along the beach.

The conservatory adjoins the sitting room and overlooks the back garden offering a quiet spot for catching up with a good book.

There is also a snug providing another escape.

The well-equipped kitchen with adjoining utility room, a wet room for showering when coming off the beach or back from a day of watersports, and the charming dining area complete the ground floor accommodation.

On the first floor there are three individual bedrooms with the master having a four poster bed and en-suite shower room.

Outside the gardens really are a delight with even a little hideaway patio offering shade on those hot afternoons.

Within a ten minute walk or a four minute drive is the ferry point with excellent restaurants including the Mariner's pub and the famous Blue Tomato.

The mile long fine sand beach at Rock is fringed with dunes with water beautifully calm and clear making it a haven for all water based leisure pursuits.

Further along from the beach at Rock the safe bathing beach of Daymer Bay is sure to be a popular choice for families and offers a most enjoyable walk to and fro.

For the essential trip to Padstow a trip across on the ferry is strongly advised; with pubs and top class restaurants you will be spoilt for choice.

Kilcarreg was the most perfect Easter break for our family.

A lovely home with super facilities and a short walk from all the local amenities. Alison, the owner, was available to speak to for help when required, the perfect host! The house itself was a great layout for families with the snug and sitting room and the garden was perfect to sit in with the spring sunshine whilst the children ran around.

Kilcarreg is a comfortable and very well equipped holiday home.

The kitchen is excellent which was great as we love cooking. Local restaurants Four Boys and The Mariners are very good if you want to eat out and Fee's Deli almost felt as if we were still in South West London. Alison, the owner, phoned us a couple of days before our stay to check if we needed any help or additional information. We didn't but this personal service is a nice touch and much appreciated. The property location is good with ample parking. The shops in Rock are very nearby while the harbour is an easy 20 minute walk. Wifi is very good - important for our son who was working online during some of our stay. In conclusion we really loved the house and area.

The house is lovely- it really is a home from home.

There was plenty of space in house and garden so we could be on our own or together as a family. The house was huge, clean, warm, comfy and extremely well equipped. Rock is a lovely village and we can recommend the bakery, the deli and the fish and chips! Enjoyed local walks to beaches, shops and restaurants. Handy for Padstow ferry. The information from the owner was extremely useful. I would definitely consider booking this again in the future.
