Lowenna Manor 4

We have stayed here before and it’s a perfect location and warm and cosy BUT cleaning could have been more thorough and repairs not done to areas requiring it from few years ago eg leaks by back doors … just felt rather tired accommodation

We had a great week based at Lowenna Manor 4.

It was comfortable, clean, well appointed and looked fresh and recently refurbished. The safe, enclosed garden is perfect for our curious dog and must be lovely in summer. The gap under the gate needs to be blocked for a small dog. We don’t allow our dog upstairs so we suggest a stair gate is added. (One of the other houses has a home made plywood barrier which can be put up if needed).

The cottage was well situated with local excellent amenities.

A great place for a base for the local attractions.

Great property in a lovely location, well equipped.

Walking distance to the bakery and village shop as well as Rock beach and ferry crossing to Padstow. 10 minute drive to Polzeath. The property is set on lovely grounds which my children (13 and 9) made great use of - cricket, football, boules, and riding bikes.

The only constructive criticism I would give : we struggled to use the hob and oven.

The instructions were missing, I don’t think it would be fair to mark somebody down on this point. We struggled to download a copy, not sure if it’s an old model. The master bed, I would have to say is uncomfortable. Not sure if the mattress is old or bed weak. Seams to dip in the middle when you sleep and. Makes you both fall in the middle. Thought it only fair to provide the constructive feedback if that helps.

We were extremely disappointed with this property.

The price for the week was on offer so we paid nearly half price plus additional fee for two dogs, if we'd paid the full price I would be asking for a refund. It is a spacious and light property, downstairs is comfortable and having an enclosed garden with dogs is a real bonus. However, it was not very clean, the downstairs windows were cloudy inside the double glazing and the windowsills covered in dirt. The plastic cover on the dining table was sticky and curled up at the edges. Although big enough to seat 5 or more you can't get the chairs around it as it is pushed into the corner and very close to the sofa. The cutlery is very cheap and nasty and one cupboard had a load of out of date food in it. The freezer drawers were dirty. The cupboard under the stairs was a mess. The bedrooms were all very nice, comfortable beds and nice furniture. The carpet however was a hard scratchy material and there are a number of stains on it. It was not nice to walk on with bare feet. The main bathroom was large and towels provided were lovely. There needs to be a warning about the shower, it has a very high step up into it and nothing to hold onto when getting out, this would definitely not be easy for someone with mobility issues or an elderly person, I am not surprised there are no photos of the shower as it has a lot of black mould around the door and bottom of tiles. The shower in the top bedroom is over a bath so not able to use this as an alternative. The bedroom balcony is not lovely as described, it has two dirty tatty garden chairs on it and the decking is dirty. The cottage is well positioned, near shops and a short walk to the beach. It is in a quiet area and has nice lawns to the front.

Loved everything about it.

Only issue was one of the windows wouldn't open in the bedroom, making it a bit hot. But other than that perfect, thanks so much

Lowena Manor 4 is a lovely little terraced house.

Living space and garden wise I am not sure that I would want to be a party of 6 staying there. The garden furniture only has 2 seats. There is no outside tap, which for a house that offers the ability for pets seems like a big miss. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Great location for coastal walking, lovely and clean and would highly recommend and return for another holiday however the main bathroom requires some maintenance.

The bath tap moves and the shower requires sealing around the edges. On arrival there was a car parked in the allocated bay outside the house, we called number given and left a message for advice on but no one returned our call.

The accommodation was shabby.

It needs a decent clean, new garden furniture, new carpet, a lick of paint, windows that open and a TV that works.

Lovely location, brilliant for the beach, and very nice house with comfy beds but scruffy ‘garden’ and damp patch over ceiling at back door and really annoying not to have a separate tumble dryer when it’s raining.

The washer/ dryer just warms things up a bit. Mostly very clean , nice bed linen , but noticed some dust/ cobwebs, snd grot under the shower plug. Overall a lovely stay. Have added the gripes since you have asked!

Well positioned house close to coastal walks.

Well equipped but lacking some basic essentials ( like salt and pepper) in the kitchen. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The property needs a good deep clean.

Many surfaces were grubby and the furnishings are very tired. Also, very disappointed that there was no sun umbrella for the garden. This is essential for this type of property. On the plus side the bed was comfortable with good quality linen.

We enjoyed a very relaxing break at Lowenna Manor 4.

Easy access for parking, lovely walk to the beach and ferry. Really comfy and spacious accommodation. The kitchen could do with some tweaks-smoke alarm went off with every use of the toaster and only baking tray had something melted onto it making it unusable. Someone from the nextdoor rental property parked in our parking space outside the property all week so we had to use the space further away.

We had a fab holiday in the house - it was perfect for our family of 5, with plenty of space and a well equipped kitchen.

A great location for Rock, with an excellent cafe across the road. However, the garden furniture was terrible and the lack of BBQ also means it’s not possible to make the most of the outdoor space during a summer holiday.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks in Lowenna Manor.

It was disappointing not to have been told in advance that we didn’t have use of the shed, even though we had asked about it beforehand. The crockery seriously needs updating, but our stay was very comfortable with a great bed, and the house was lovely and warm - a real plus in bad weather! We would stay again.

We had a lovely week in Lowenna 4 Rock- just a couple of very small details that would have made it even better- the outside table and chairs had seen better days and not that comfortable- the kitchen could do with some new mugs and the garden would benefit from a washing line - all small inexpensive things would make a big difference - otherwise we would highly recommend this cottage- it’s in a brilliant position in Rock and you can easily explore the area on foot - you are near local shops- pubs and the ferry to Padstow

We have had a brilliant holiday - fab accommodation that was well situated in Rock.

Lovely area of lawn out the front of Lowenna Manor made the perfect place for the kids to play with other children who were also on holiday. Really enjoyed our holiday!
