    “We had a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks in Lowenna Manor.”

    It was disappointing not to have been told in advance that we didn’t have use of the shed, even though we had asked about it beforehand. The crockery seriously needs updating, but our stay was very comfortable with a great bed, and the house was lovely and warm - a real plus in bad weather! We would stay again.

Lowenna Manor is a conversion into terraced houses of a former manor house in the center of Rock.  Set within its own grounds each house has their own gardens but benefit from the large open spaces beyond and around that are communal to all the properties.  With footpaths to two sides, one leading to the Golf course and onto Rock beach the ferry, and further to Brea Hill and Daymer Bay, the other going to the Newsagent, Bakery, Butcher, Fish monger and shops, it is set in a location that needs very little car travel around the village.  Perfect to switch off from the constant pressure of being car bound!

The property

Lowenna Manor 4 occupies a prime position in the centre of Rock village on the North Cornwall coast, with great amenities all within walking distance. This comfortably furnished 3-storey property has a terrace and secure private garden with parking at the rear for two cars. There is ample room for a family of 5 in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. An outside store has space for any sporting equipment, surfboards, wetsuits etc. There are wonderful walks near the property without having to cross any roads along the footpaths of St Enodoc golf course and onto Rock beach or Daymer Bay. The first floor has the benefit of a king size bedroom with doors out onto a lovely balcony. There is a bathroom and an additional single room across the landing, ideal for a young child. The second floor bedroom and ensuite bathroom is accessed from an open staircase, so is more suited to older children, grandparents or friends. Downstairs the ground floor is open plan and the lounge/diner has a wonderful light, bright feel with French windows onto the garden. Children can roam feely inside and out without the possibility of escaping from the garden! A useful terrace with garden furniture is the perfect setting for family meals on balmy days.There are plenty of local shops for groceries along the Rock road, including a baker, butcher, deli and a fishmonger. Guests can also pop down to the nearby Porthilly Farm to buy oysters and mussels freshly harvested from the Camel estuary. An extremely convenient restaurant lies almost opposite Lowenna Manor, and many more options for eating out can be found a little further down the Rock road. With so many water-sports on offer, from sailing to surfing, windsurfing to waterskiing, it would be hard for anyone to get bored in Rock and nearby Polzeath. If you do fancy a change of scenery though, families can spend a day on the other side of the estuary by taking the little ferry over to the vibrant harbour side of Padstow. The town has plenty of opportunities for shoppers, gourmets and children, while thrill seekers can take advantage of a speedboat ride or a more leisurely cruise aboard the Jubilee Queen.Ground Floor: Lounge/Diner Kitchen Separate W.C. Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
