“Beautiful and spacious bungalow that we enjoyed very much for our two weeks stay.”

Everything was great and ideal for our needs. It is in a convenient location in a quiet lane close to shops, a chippie & bakery whilst still walking distance to the beach and its amenities. Only small issue was the home EV charger not working during the entire second week. Strange as it worked perfectly during the first week. Hopefully we will return next year. Thank you

It was the second time we stayed at Samphire every thing is perfect for us accommodation, location ,, Parking, access Short of haveing a beach view I don't know how we could stay in a more perfect Property,, We will be back probably not till next June I was introduced to Rock at 11yrs old in 1967 been coming back ever since often more than once a Yr,,

“The three of us and our dog had a great stay.”

The accommodation was excellent, matched by the weather. Plenty to explore in the area and plenty of comfortable space inside and outside to relax afterwards. The fish and chip shop 100 yards away was really good.

“Our second visit to Samphire.”

A lovely place to stay, great location close to the beach at Rock. A very private and secure garden. Spotlessly clean with good facilities. Some crockery needs replacing and also some oven trays. The shower room needs attention to the lock and also a hook on the door as it is a very small room. Also the double bedroom needs blackout blind / curtain as light shines through in the morning.

“We had a super holiday , the bungalow housed 3 generations of family plus dog very comfortably and our grandchildren really loved the games and puzzles which were available.”

There are a couple of things to comment about, one being the bathroom which really needs an update. The shower over the bath is difficult for older people and my husband found the shower room too small, he is quite a big man. Also there is a strong smell of oil coming from the boiler but we opened the utility room window and it cleared. However, none of these things spoiled our holiday, we loved the property and will return. Thank you

“We have stayed in this property before, about 18 months ago, we have been visiting this area for more than 20 years, so the bungalow itself is ideally located and suitable for my elderly Mum.”

Wonderful to be dog friendly, so the whole family enjoys this beautiful place and all the beaches! However, first time visiting in Winter, the beds are so terribly uncomfortable, we rotated in hope some may be better than others…sadly not…we all came away with bad backs..so far from ideal after paying a pricey sum of a New Years Break, one we booked after my Mums recent illness! The garden also really needs an outside

“Property was lovely, spacious, comfortable and well equipped.”

Location was great too, ample parking and close to local amenities. Although the shower was good, the main bathroom needs modernising. The mattresses were also too soft. We could easily come back and stay!

“The house was very nice and welcoming.”

We enjoyed the garden and the well appointed kitchen. It was great to find enough kitchen tools and pans etc as well as a few tablets for the dishwasher. The bedrooms were light and airy. Thanks for having us! The only negative was the requirement that we had left the house by nine (having only been allowed in from four). This early check out felt a bit unnecessary, adding an unwelcome element of hurry to our departure. Even an extra half hour would have been appreciated! Nonetheless the house and our stay was delightful.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Samphire.”

Everything was great, spotlessly clean and the facilities were all of a good standard. Bed was so comfy, the best we’ve had in a holiday home, and loved the cotton bedding. Lovely sunny garden too. The only comment is lack of sockets in the house and also perhaps a shelf in the shower would be helpful. Many thanks, will rebook next year.

“Lovely house.”

We have re-booked for next year. Three requests: 1) Fix locks in toilets. 2) WD-40 on door hinges. 3) Some rugs, curtains or other soft furnishings to reduce the echo.

“Good feedback: Great location.”

Extremely close to all local shops and close to all beaches. We enjoyed walking from the property to Rock and surrounding area. Very clean on arrival. Lounge room area very comfortable and very cosy with nice sofa. Dining area ie table and chairs were of good standard and sofa was a nice touch. Plenty of kitchen utensils and cooking pans etc. Feedback: Small shower room needs updating and not 5 star standard. Tiles and sink were tired and a touch old fashioned. Bit of mould in the corner above the shower head needs attention. Shower riser was not working correctly and could not be moved without the riser mechanism popping out. Larger bathroom was also a bit tired and also not really 5 star. Kitchen tiles have been painted over and some of the light fittings look old and have been painted over…not an ideal finish again for 5 star rated house. Both bathrooms need hooks to hang things on. Bedroom hooks on the doors keep falling off as adhesive has worn. An outside tap could be useful to wash down boards and wetsuits providing there’s a pipe that can be utilised from back or side. Back porch and internal door look tired. Bedrooms comfortable, tidy with good storage, 5 star…probably not for the bedrooms.

Samphire is a large, detached property on the stunning North Cornwall coast, right around the corner from the amenities of Rock. This well-presented home, located over the ground floor, is suitable for families and groups of friends looking to experience the rural and seaside wonders of Cornwall. After a day of exploration, relax in the spacious sitting area, which features a plush corner sofa, woodburning stove, and TV, making it ideal for a cosy night in. Bring the conversation into the kitchen/diner, a modern place where the appointed chef may wow guests with a home-cooked feast prepared on a double oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher. Gather around the dining table or take the evening outside to dine alfresco on the patio furniture, which has a large lawned space for your dog to stretch their legs. Retire to one of the four well-appointed bedrooms, which include 2 king-size beds, twin, and a bunk room, all of which are well decorated and feature adequate storage. Samphire is a fantastic getaway, offering everything you need for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service.
