Silverdale

We absolutely loved our week at Silverdale.

The house is so comfortable and homely, and gave us plenty of space, outside and in. The only issue we had was the lack of fans, which normally wouldn’t be a problem but during the heatwave we really needed them, particularly in the bedrooms upstairs. Otherwise a delightful stay in a beautiful place with lots to see and do. Thank you

Accommodation for a family get together was ideal.

Everything exceeded our expectations. Wonderful location, shops and beautiful beach nearby. We all especially enjoyed the garden for a bbq ,space for the children and the dogs. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Silverdale overall – it’s a lovely property in a fantastic setting, comfortable, clean, and well laid out.

It has a lot of potential to be a perfect holiday let. There were, however, a few maintenance issues that took away from the experience. The TV was extremely slow to use, which made it difficult to relax with in the evenings. We also found there wasn’t a lot of hot water available, and unfortunately the shower only ran cold during our stay. These are small fixes but important ones, and hopefully they can be addressed quickly. Despite these issues, the property itself is great, and with a bit of attention to the maintenance side it would be an excellent place to stay.

Silverdale is a lovely place to stay, the location was perfect for us.

It was quiet and warm with loads of space. We had a very relaxing and comfortable week.

Really impressed with the whole layout of the house.

The house was very clean and tidy, we were trapped inside on a rainy day but the kids were well entertained.Nice garden space for BBQ very private, wasn’t overlooked by neighbours.We are really glad we booked this place and would highly recommend this place.

We had a lovely week at Silverdale with the added bonus of probably the warmest and best weather of the year so far.

The property was comfortable, clean and fully equipped with everything needed for a self catering family holiday. We were a group of mature adults and loved the property but it would be equally accommodate a growing family. As much as we loved Silverdale we did have a couple of minor issues. The barbecue needed cleaning before we could use it. I don’t know if you have had issues before but the doorknob of the bedroom with the shower en-suite kept sticking and I got stuck in the bedroom a couple of times. A lovely property and we would be happy to return.

Big lawn is great for the kids to play on before and after the beach. Comfy beds, warm powerful showers and great kitchen and utility facilities. So convenient for the shops on Rock Road yet peacefully tucked away down the lane. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage in a convenient location for everything Rock has to offer.

In terms of comfort my only gripe was that the bed I slept in was way too soft but that is personal choice. Sharper scissors and a new frying pan for the kitchen would be something to note too. Other than these points we had a fantastic week with some lovely meals around the big kitchen table and would definitely choose to return if we holiday in the area again.

It was fabulous.

There were 6 of us ladies and we would all like to come back for a longer stay. Loved the big round kitchen table!! We had everything we needed but just one tiny detail - there wasn't enough toilet paper. Would have been nice to find some in the cupboards.

Amazing property, we loved our stay.

Would recommend to boost the hot water when all guests are showering at the same time. WiFi was a little tempremental and the knives need sharpening but if that's the only 'negatives' then that says it all really. Great place and we would definitely return!

A lovely, warm, well positioned and tastefully decorated home.

Everything worked really well and there were enough of the basics that you could fill the dishwasher and still find enough cutlery and plates etc for everyone. Super showers, comfortable beds - will definitely be back. A couple of suggestions which we would have appreciated - an outside tap to hose sandy dogs and children down and a household bucket - for a similar reason. The refuse collection arrived before 9am - worth knowing. We all loved the house!

Lovely, comfortable, clean, well appointed home.

Fully stocked, bright and airy. Beautiful garden, even in the winter months, a relaxing feel. We had an elderly dog, so the garden was great being flat and secure enough for her not to get out. Close enough to the beach for a walk in the fresh air too. Shops very near by . Lovely village setting. Only one point to mention, the tiles outside the back doors on the pathways are extremely slippery. These could do with being removed and just leave the concrete steps below. Overall I would recommend this property. We enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas. Our age range was from 80 years to 9 years. So perfect with some ground floor bedrooms and bathroom. Plenty of seating for our party of 6 adults for three night and 7 adults plus one child for one night. Thank you

House was lovely, bright, airy, well laid out.

Plenty of cutlery and crockery, towels were nice and large, only thing missing in the kitchen was a teapot. Having the Garden was great but the dog managed to escape over the low back boundary so we had to confine her to to front garden where she soon realised she could squeeze through the gaps in the gate. Consequently she spent more time in the house than we wanted. Overall, a lovely break, would definitely return

The place felt disappointing.

Thr house is in a lovely location and should have been ideal. It says it sleeps 10 but the crockery and glassware is a mismatch that we struggled to get a set of 6 together. There was only 5 pads for the outside chairs. The place was grubby. Unwashed crockery in the cupboards. Cobwebs. Dirty dinning room chairs. And coffee table was filthy. I also expect some basics so whole toilet rolls and hand soap. The stairs have been chewed by a previous 4 legged guest. Which is fine but I felt should have been acknowledged before we arrived. The gardener turned up unannounced while we were there which is ridiculous when you consider the checking in and departure times. Grass cutting should happen on handover days. We ended up shut up in the house for over an hour. The garden is not safely enclosed especially at the back of the house. I also don't really expect to be stripping beds when I am paying £1.6k. Disappointed and with the response of John Bray when I raised these issues.

We Had a great holiday, in a very good location, plenty of good restaurants to choose from.

Lovely stay at silverdale, the facilities of the cottage was perfect for our family and med sized dog.

Very spacious in a great location just off rock road. Generally very clean but towel rails and skirting boards were very dusty. Overall an excellent stay would definitely recommend this property.

We had a fab holiday for my Dads 70th at Silverdale!

It had absolutely everything you could need and having the local shop just round the corner was an extra bonus! I would highly recommend this property!

A very comfortable property in a convenient location for shops / restaurants / beach.

The front garden is very secure for dogs but could perhaps do with gates to the sides of the property as the rear garden is less secure for larger, more bouncy canines. Good facilities within the property and everything you could need in the kitchen. Generally very clean but showers could do with a deep clean as starting to get a bit used.

Great location, good facilities.

All we needed for a relaxing holiday. Could do with a freshen up and a wardrobe in the top bedroom with the bath en-suite.

The kids and dogs loved the enclosed garden. The house is very spacious and in a lovely spot just off rock road. Lots of nice walks close by and great beaches too. Would definitely recommend this property. Will be returning.

3 generations met for a birthday celebration, having happy memories of holidays in Rock over 50+ years.

We chose Silverdale for its location, capacity and layout, and were not disappointed. The facilities of the cottage are perfect for a large family group, including a small dog, and were presented in a clean and tidy state. Convenient access to the Nursery Stores and Fish and Chip shop were a bonus.

We were very impressed with Silverdale, spacious, clean and very comfortable and in a perfect location - we had a fabulous holiday with 3 generations of family and a dog.

Would highly recommend it as a base to explore this lovely part of Cornwall.

Had a lovely stay, the weather was very kind to us.

The house is very spacious and was very clean. The beds and sofas are all comfortable and good quality as were the bed linen and towels. Garden is great for the dogs as it is very safe. Great walk for dog end of the lane. Couple of things to note, if it is windy there is a knocking noise in the upstairs bedrooms, we had to relocate downstairs. The far end bedroom downstairs smells of damp, wasn’t too bad after I opened the window for a while. There was no hairdryer which I would have expected for the price we paid. You sent the Wi-Fi password code but not which network, managed to find the Wi-Fi box and figure it out. There are no instructions on how to use TV, or any appliances. These were small niggels and didn’t spoil the holiday.

We had to clean the kitchen area and hover the bedrooms on arrival.

The oven was in a poor state But overall the property and the area was ideal for a great family holiday
