“Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at Obo’s retreat.”

The house was perfectly kitted out for families with young kids. There was such a great range of board games which keep us entertained on the odd rainy day.

“Bungalow lovely and very clean.”

Couldn’t find the walk in electric shower switch on are a couple of days. Looks like it was purposely hidden as when we did find it shower thermostat obviously broken. Scorch hit or freezing cold. Very dangerous. This was brought up in the Summer in quotes from other guests. Clearly the issue has not been fixed. Other than this we had a lovely stay.

“Not enough pans and cookery equipment for a family holiday, it was a struggle for just two people.”

The property was clean and functional Oh and it's a semi detached, I don't recall seeing that anywhere in the description!

“This semi-detached bungalow was ideally situated for exploring North Cornwall.”

Being opposite the Pityme Inn was a great advantage. The back grass could have done with a cut as it was really too long to eat out. Otherwise it had very comfortable beds with an excellent kitchen.

“The shower in the separate shower room was quite low pressure and there was a broadband issue but it was sorted quickly with the local office, they were very helpful.”

Apart from that, the property was nice and we would book again.

“Enjoyable stay in a nicely decorated and clean bungalow.”

The walk in shower had a fault with temp gauge. Reported it as it would be dangerous and could scald someone. Front door sticks & is hard to shut. I see a previous guest had reported it so would have expected it to be fixed. As previous reviews had stated they received a welcome pack so I didn't take tea, coffee etc. Anyway we didn't receive one. Luckily shop across road was open.

“Lovely comfortable bungalow with a welcome bag of goodies.”

We were two families of 5 and there was plenty of room. The bedrooms had comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with an additional toilet in the utility room. Games and toys for children, the pub across the road which also had the village shop. Found a lane across from the pub to walk the dogs in the mornings. The grass needed cutting but the gardeners came on the Tuesday. Bit confused regarding the wheelie bins but put them out on the Wednesday evening and were emptied before we left but not by the normal dustmen but contractors for holiday lets. It said no glass in the bins but they gave us a bag to put our bottles in and took them. I would highly recommend this bungalow

“We ( four German Ladies) had a lovely stay !”

Besides the Cornish weather nearly everything was perfect! Very well equipped kitchen, a very spacious and bright dining room and living room! Comfortable bedding and two huge bath/ shower rooms! Separate laundry and drying room, perfect for a family stay! We only missed a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms, a full size mirror and the dining table chairs aren’t much comfortable! But this didn’t spoil our holidays ! We had a great time at Obo‘s Retreat ! Spacious private parking….and the Pityme Pub is just across the street offering great food and drinks!

“Obo's Retreat is a home away from home, A perfect base from which to roam.”

Close to many beautiful places you'll want to explore, Polzeath, Rock, Padstow and so many more. After a day in the surf we couldn't wait to get back, To lovely hot showers, cosy beds, ready to hit the sack. If you are a chef at heart the kitchen has all you will need, Many hungry mouths you will be able to feed. If a take away or eating out is what you are after, There is a pub across the road filled with ale, good food and laughter. And when you are tired and weary from the Cornish sea air, The comfy sofas are ready so a film you can share. Obo's Retreat is a perfect place for a holiday together, Thanks for the memories, we'll treasure them forever.

Obo's Retreat is a beautiful single-story home that is perfectly situated close to Rock, Daymer Bay and surrounding beaches; a highly desired area. Obo's Retreat, which accommodates six people for the dreamy coastal getaway, offers off-road parking, is pet-friendly and features ground-floor living that makes it perfect for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy Cornwall's natural splendour. The fabulous open plan living in Obo's Retreat creates a sociable atmosphere which is fantastic for spending time together. The central, airy space benefits from large front window where natural light streams in and combines modern furnishings with comfort and plenty of space for all the family. Be impressed by the well-equipped kitchen containing a fantastic selection of appliances that is guaranteed to thrill any budding chef. Allow yourself to relax while your partner prepares a great meal that you can enjoy as a family at the dining table, toasting to a fantastic trip as you tuck in. After supper, retire to the sumptuous lounge area and turn on the Smart TV to enjoy a movie marathon. After a relaxing bath or refreshing shower in the evening climb into the super-king-size bed while your guests settle into the double and twin-single beds in preparation for yet another exciting day. The super-king and double room enjoy views over the enclosed garden at the back of the house while the light, front twin bedroom provides a calm and welcoming retreat adults or children to share. Any kids and furry companions will love the lawn at the back to let off any steam, if they have any left after your days on the beach! Start your day with a brisk morning walk on Rock Beach's on top of the sand dunes or for the ultimate wake-up routine, dive into the water of the Camel Estuary for a brief swim. At low tide you can stroll across to Daymer Bay where the gradual-gradient sand is perfect beach for little ones to play, or simply soak up the sun while taking in the panoramic vistas from the top of Brea Hill. Refuel at one of the area's many pubs or eateries, such as The Pityme Inn which is just across the lane from Obo's Retreat, The Mariners Public House (run by the fantastic Paul Ainsworth group), or The Rock Inn and then continue up the coast to the surfing village of Polzeath. Travel further north to snorkel at Port Quin or enjoy a cliff top hike and take in the sights at Doc Martin-famed Port Isaac. For your retail therapy, hop across on the foot ferry to Padstow where you can shop the delightful boutique stores and afterwards, indulge in the Rick Stein restaurants, cafe and deli or kick back at Rojano's, Paul's Italian restaurant. On your way back to your coastal home, top up on culture by visiting the local artists such as The Jackson Gallery, Nina Brooke's studio and the pop ups that frequent the Rock Insitute in the village.
