The property

Greystones is a truly beautiful and spacious property set in large sheltered mature gardens with views to the very top of Brea Hill and from the upstairs balcony out to sea. This holiday house is found within a minutes walk to the picturesque family beach of Daymer Bay on the North Cornwall coast. A comfortable retreat, Greystones can happily accommodate 10 guests in five bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. Perfect for an extended family or larger groups of friends who can indulge in beachside sports or amble over to do a round of golf on the glorious St Enodoc golf course which adjoins this perfect spot. The house is bright, fresh and light with plenty of large windows for the Cornish sunshine to flood into. Pots of agapanthus, lavender and rosemary surround the splendid south facing terrace where families can gather to lounge about in the sunshine or to share a meal. On cooler days the superb dining room can provide ample space for eating food prepared easily in the lovely kitchen complete with a classic cream Aga. Of the three bedrooms with kingsized beds, one has the added luxury of a balcony, surely your bonus for booking!Daymer Bay is an extremely desirable location and so much will be on your doorstep. You could take a gentle amble to the site of the late poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman's grave at the ancient chapel nestling within the dunes above the bay. Take a walk at low tide right along to the thriving sailing mecca of Rock, or if beach combing or swimming isn’t energetic enough for you, sea and wind conditions prevailing; this is a great spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Coastal walks are rewarding and can be as gentle or arduous as you like dependent on your needs, there are seabirds aplenty and the lucky few can spot pods of dolphins gambolling out on the Doom Bar at the mouth of the estuary. About the location

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers with the waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
