    “Just to mention that the mattresses on the bunk bed need replacing, as the children complained that the springs were causing them discomfort.”

    It would also have been nice to have had a barbecue at this property.

    Many thanks for your feedback . As Owner’s we do our very best to ensure that “Cogenhoe” meets and indeed exceeds guests expectation and welcome feedback to help us achieve this aim. Bunk Bed Mattresses: We were aware that these were past their best and had planned to replace them before the 2021 season. However, due to Covid restrictions we were unable to pay our usual winter visit to prepare for the new season and the mattress renewal was not possible. Hopefully, Covid restrictions allowing, we will be able to provide new mattresses before next season. BBQ: We purchased a new BBQ for the property for the 2020 season but were advised that, as not all guests cleaned the BBQ after their use, there was concern that Covid secure cleaning between guests could not be guaranteed . For this reason we were advised not to put the BBQ out. Hopefully, things will be easier next season and we can again provide a BBQ at the property. Property Owner

The property

Cogenhoe is a recently refurbished detached holiday bungalow in Pityme, Rock, offering comfortable self-catering accommodation for 8 guests in up to 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Well situated within very easy walking distance of the Pityme pub/restaurant and only a few minutes drive of the glorious beaches, golf courses and local amenities in North Cornwall. This self-catering holiday cottage offers child friendly enclosed gardens to front and rear, parking and for those warm summer evenings, a sunny decked terrace for outdoor entertaining.The property lends itself well to warm days where you can open the French doors from the kitchen and conservatory onto the lovely decked area. Family meals can be taken outside making the most of local produce from the nearby fishmonger, butcher or baker. The accommodation comprises of a master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite shower room, two further king size bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. There are two further bathrooms, a family bathroom with shower over the bath, and a separate shower room. With plenty of outside space, a sunny conservatory and lovely open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen, there will always be somewhere to relax and enjoy some well-deserved peace and quiet.Pityme is located between two very scenic golf courses; the famous St Enodoc and The Point at Polzeath where they also have a gym, spa and swimming pool. The nearby beaches of Polzeath and Daymer are a 5-minute drive away. The choice of restaurants in the area is fantastic with many celebrity chefs to choose from including Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw. A holiday highlight for all the family should include taking the foot passenger ferry from the beach at Rock to the picturesque fishing port of Padstow. Watching the everyday ebb and flow of harbour life is a rewarding way to spend a precious day of your holiday. Accommodation: Sitting Room Conservatory Kitchen/Dining Room Bathroom/Shower/W.C. Bedroom 1: Kingsize Bed (5 ft) with en-suite Shower/W.C. Bedroom 2: Twin Beds (3ft) Bedroom 3: Kingsize Bed (5 ft) Bedroom 4: Bunk Beds (3ft) Bedroom 5: Kingsize Bed (5 ft) (next to the wall on one side) Please note although there are more bed spaces in the house than for the 8 guests the extra bedroom is kept open to guests for their flexibility over bed arrangements - the house is not designed for any more than 8 paying visitors and should not be used as such. Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
