A view of the beach at Daymer Bay in North Cornwall.

Cornwall’s north coast was built for surfing however there are a few beaches along this coast that are less than ideal for surfing. Daymer Bay Beach is one of them. Whilst you can surf here, it’s not as well known for its waves as Polzeath or Fistral.

There is no lifeguard on duty here either and as it’s a fairly sheltered cove with shallow waters it’s much better for bathing, short swims close to the shoreline, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding. Some may even consider it a good beach for novice surfers looking to get to grips with their board.
