“Hello! We really enjoyed Dane Cottage and would love to know more about its history.”
How old is the cottage? It is charming! Kitchen was lovely and inviting and had everything we could need. The sofas were comfortable and the TV worked like a charm. We never used the fireplaces but used the electric instead. We only used the master bedroom and it was super comfy with adequate storage for items. Excellent hot water and shower. Loved the convenience of a walk to Port Isaac without having to drive in. It was an excellent launch spot out to other areas of Cornwall.
The house was beautifully clean.
The only negatives were an awful damp, mold smell as we first entered and for at least 24 hours until the heater helped, air freshener, and a scented candle placed in the open fireplace too. We had to leave the windows open for fresh air as the smell was overpowering if not. Thank you for leaving cleaning items. I used the vacuum hose as numerous spiders were in all rooms but mostly downstairs.

Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you love Dane Cottage. In terms of it's history, we cannot give you a definitive build date however, as with other cottages in the village they are linked with a fishing heritage dating back to the 18th or 19th centuries; and they each possess their own charm and we agree, this one is a gem. The dampness has been noted and we will look into how to address this. We would love to welcome you back in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner.
